If you could update the video to feature a solar-powered watering timer, it would be absolutely perfect. Would you be interested in collaborating on an updated version?

maybe it depends on what seeds to grow in worm cast only, i also experimenting on basil, i use only worm cast vs 50% and im surprise to see that 50% grows more than pure casting

These were the worms i used to dig up so my dad didn't have to buy bait! Until i fell in love with them they are so cute I didn't want him to hurt them so I'd dig them up out of the yard and hide them under the house. I don't know why I didn't like the red ones they freaked me out so I gave him those.

Great video great system, I would of used clear roofing and guttering silicone sealant, it's easier to undo mistakes and seals perfect unlike actual glues and silicone acts as a rubberised glue as well, won't crack under pressure. I would put a plastic ball in the sight tube, it would look great.

Amazing video! Thank you so much. Can you show how made the overflow? Did you use a pvc bulkhead? I’m having a hard time trying to figure out the best way to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If your compost exceeds the proper temperature does it ruin your compost if so how would you bring it back to recommended temp?
@TexasOrganicGardening2 ай бұрын
@@nobodyfilms5262 it can get too hot yes…temperatures over 160 degrees F can kill the beneficial microbes and bacteria. If you notice that it is getting well above 140 the recommended action is to aerate and turn the pile.

So strange, I use 100% worm castings and it does well. I do use an organic fertiliser as well mixed in so maybe they just lack the NPK?

Greatness. I was wondering how to keep my worms from dying in the east Texas winter and you have provided the solution for me ! The wireless temp sensor is a great idea as well. Thanks

Now I'd like to see the comparison of growth using worm castings from cow manure, compared to worm castings from compost. My guess is the castings from compost would do much better.

I’m pretty sure you got most of this build info from MY video that I posted over 10 years ago. It’s always nice to give credit where credit is due. I’m glad the information was useful, that’s why I uploaded the video. Just sayin… “ rain barrel irrigation system”
@Amassakoul0075 ай бұрын
Great set up! Only suggestion consider raising the barrels 2 to 4 ft. That should give you enough pressure to eliminate the pump and your solar system ( solar panel, charge controller and battery).

there is also the factor that there's different quality of worm castings (more pure, vs more compost heavy).

Great video, but you stopped a little too soon. As the worms grow, what is your workflow to collect the worm castings for your garden soil?
@ricardosuarez80236 ай бұрын
Great idea! I'll do it + a little rubber ball inside the tube. It'll be easier to see the water level since the tank is on the third.floor. Thanks again.

For the pump what pressure did you set it at?
@jilltompson23067 ай бұрын
Could be the quality of your worm castings. Try a different source. Or, several. To prevent the saturation problem use an equal amount of Perlite and/or horticultural sand with each soil. And, to ensure that the seeds are good - germinate all of them in a control soil before transplanting them into your experiment. Just thoughts. Well done for doing this video. And, thank you!
