Thanks for your Rad videos. I have a semi-integrated Battery in a Rad 6 Urban. I am on my 5th replacement battery from Rad. Latest one still in box, afraid to put in. Always follow correct plug/unplug protocol. Issue battery will not charge. Any thoughts?
@PopRivetChannel
@PopRivetChannel 2 ай бұрын
Yikes! That's a lot of batteries. One rule I strictly follow is to disconnect the charger when the battery is full, or nearly so. I never let it charge overnight. In fact, as soon as I start a recharge, I set the timer on my phone to remind me to unplug it. I also don't wait until the charger light goes green. Squeezing that last drop of juice in there just doesn't seem worth it. Good luck with the new battery.

I purchased a used 2018 Rad city and I think the original owner changed out the controller because it’s hardwares to the motor. Everything works just fine but replacing the tire will be a pain…as it was when replacing the freewheel and chain. When I decide to upgrade it will not be a Rad brand.

My 2017 Silverado LTZ 5.3 had a big electrical wire in the way of my cabin filter. Great engineering GM! I had the same problem with mice. I started to use a glue board trap zip tied to the top of the air intake box. There's a brand called "Gotcha" where they advertised that their glue doesn't freeze in the wintertime. So it's always sticky.

I took your advice and was able to set up my bike sufficiently. Had a nice ride but the weather is crap today so I’ll check the screws in a few days when the weather gets nicer. I’m glad I went this route instead of paying $250 for a shop to assemble it for me.! Thanks! I have a better understanding of the bicycle now, and having no prior experience as a cyclist that helped tremendously! Also been hands-on through the assembly process I read the entire manual, which I don’t know if I would’ve if I would’ve had a shop put together! Thanks!

How do you determine the correct combination of power assist and gear selection ?
@PopRivetChannel
@PopRivetChannel 9 ай бұрын
Good question, vague answer. It depends on what you want or expect from an ebike: speed, easy, no-effort pedaling, or aerobic exercise. With 35 assist/gear possibilities, it's tough to know where to begin. So why not start in the middle, say assist level 3 and 2nd gear. With a touch of the throttle, you'll be pedalling at an easy pace. Too easy? Upshift to 3rd gear. If it feels like you're being propelled too fast for road or traffic conditions, try lowering the pedal assist a notch and then shift gears up or down to reach a safe speed and pedal cadence you're comfortable with. Hope that helps. Be safe out there.

Just subbed, like your channel, I also enjoy e biking and classic cars, my family bought nothing but Impalas in the 60's. When you ride your e bike, do you keep proper leg extension, or do you like to plant feet on ground when you come to a stop?

Here's a tip. Before you pull the old filter out completely, push down on the edge and see if there is debris inside. If it's like we see here, try to suck it out before removing the filter. This keeps a lot of crap from falling down into the fan. I had to remove the fan, it's not fun.

Another tip! Using the box the new filer comes in, cut out the same shape as the new filter. Then slide it under the old filter while still in place before removing. It makes a nice barrier that catches most of the crap and easier to vacuum out.

Nothing can stop a battery-powered grinder or cut-off tool. I keep talking myself out of buying a 3 wheel trike for this reason. Just look how quick they steal catalytic converters on cars (90 seconds) and they first have to get under it. Thieves carry these tools in daylight with backpacks also slim jims to open car doors down their pant legs. You just can't have anything.

So true, but not universally so. As I worked on this video, I knew someone would bring up this unfortunate reality. In many other locales a simple locking system like I describe here will suffice, thankfully.

That is what I'm trying to figure out. Mine folds...so I'm hoping to get the front and back wheel with one heavy chain and a small one for the extra wheel. Hopefully I can get away with two high end locks. Three locks might cause them to go for an easier target.

Hi, thanks for tuning in. Yeah, the tires hum right along with you, especially when new and the nubs are still square. The noise decreases some as they wear in but doesn't really go away.
