here's a tip.. as long as you're going to leave the vinegar in the toilet for hours a dozen hard boiled eggs placed in the bottom will make for a great snack later that night when you celebrate your clean toilet. throw in some red pepper and sausage and invite your neighbors over! obviously I'm kidding LOL unless you don't like your neighbors.

As a retired plumber, I clean many of jets in my years and if you have a jet that’s in the front at the bottom if you can’t put your finger through it and it’s closed off with calcium you need to take a small screwdriver and start chipping it awayand keep breaking it up until it starts to crumble and pieces starts falling out. Keep chipping away until you could put your finger in that hole vinegar sometimes don’t work when a calcium is really thick and built up over the years.

I use a drain snake shoved into the big siphon jet at the bottom and work it around. I breaks up a lot of the calcium buildup and the toilet flushes better. Might try this method next time.

Other videos are showing to drain the toilet and then add the vinegar or acidic cleaner. You dried it out, taped it to keep the vinegar in there a while. Great idea. Our toilet hasn't been flushing well for a couple of years. Now it's time to get on it. In the morning I get to work

I followed your instructions and the noise difference was certainly noticeable and satisfying to hear (or not hear, to be more accurate). One thing, though. I ordered the stuff you recommended. I put on and heat shrinked the tubing on the rollers. I went to install them and found none of the hinges would accept the roller shaft with the heat-shrunk tubing. I tried putting on and heat shrinking new tubing longer than I did the first set. Again, no fitting the roller shaft in the hinge. While in Home Depot the other day, I walked down the garage door section aisle and noticed there are three 'sizes' of garage door hinges. At any rate, the door is opening and closing quieter than ever before. Thank you.

I will try this! I have a stereo remote the needs cleaning. I use wegmans store brand batteries. I use a necklace fan at work & I can get at least 12 hours of use out of them. I keep my batteries in a battery daddy at room temp.

If you build a 300ft tower in your backyard and put the cistern on top of it run the associated plumbing and make sure to install an extra long chain to operate the flushing mechanism and I will guarantee your shitter will have a ton more pressure. Weekend project for DIYers.

I really cant see the jets and all i can see is a groove all around. So tell me the there are two parts in my wall mounted flush and its system inserted inside the wall with an opening at the top. So the overflow area is the one i can see in the centre (a hole in the ball cock (vertical tube in the centre?) that is where i put the vinegar in?

Muriatic acid works much quicker and better. Be sure to have good ventilation. Only take a few minutes and 1 treatment.

My method to make my awful toilet flush right is to dump that day's dishwater down it. I get a powerful and instant flush. Not guaranteed to flush just anything, but I go from a 98% chance it will NOT flush to a 98% that it WILL. I'll also check out your method in case it's more convenient. My way requires a camping portable sink resting in the kitchen sink.
