i want that turbo kit.i will get it.ill upgrade the clutch and install the zl1 fuel pump...and thats about it.and then the 50 horse shot of nitrous. boost n juice. why not right? cant wait to rev the engine at a light and let the turbo whine...and then...for good measure...let the led red purge fill the air...with an evil mist!!!

Kind of an odd question; but for the 5th gen LS3 Camaros, would the so-called "night fury" cam still be applicable with a stage 1 turbonetics kit? Or would other options have to be considered? Supposedly the Stage 1 kits don't require changing injectors/fuel pump, so I wouldn't have to worry about those? Doing my research early before making a pricey mistake. Thanks in advance.

What suspension upgrades are you running and what would you change if you wanted more grip?
@rjunior20038 жыл бұрын
My car is setup for road racing, but most of these mods can be cross-reference for drag too.1. Solid Sub-frame Bushings (removes rear end "loose whip" feeling under hard acceleration.)2. aFe rear Toe & trailing control arms (keeps car straight and reduces wheel hop.) 3. Polyurethane bushings all around (increases steering response and reduces over-steer)4. BC coilovers adjustable damping and rebound ( Hard rear soft front for drag, road racing is a bit more involved and varies from track to track)5. Sway bars ( no upgrade required for drag, but very important for road racing, reduces body roll.)6. drag alignment, rear - as close to 0 camber .15 toe IN, Front -1 to -1.5 camber, 0 toe6. road alignment, rear -.8 to -1.2 camber .12 toe IN, Front -1.2 to -2.4 camber, 0 to .05 toe out (these settings vary from track to track weight distribution, road condition etc. 7. and most important: good rubber! best street tire in my opinion Michelin Pilot Super Sports $$$ bring your walletcurrently running Continental Extreme Contact WS6 & is a happy compromise between performance and $my size setup 315-35-20 rear, 275-40-20 front. this setup hooks about 600 WHP from a dig with proper alignment.anything more than that and you'll need to start looking a M/T tires drag on a small 16" wheel for serious competitive performance.

Extremely helpful. Trans build?
@rjunior20038 жыл бұрын
Manual trans has been pushed over 1000hp without mods - axels, output shaft & differential will pop at around 600rwhp with aggressive launch from weakest link all the way to the tranny. that's assuming your not slipping the clutch. I have a twin clutch Center force on mine capable of +1000 torque.from a roll they seem to do just fine, I've seen people pushing +800 with easy launch. ticking time bomb in my opinion. wheel hop will kill your axels even with less HP.Auto is easier on the axels and output shafts but only by a slight %. you'll need different torque converters as your HP goes up.
@AbeSpec8 жыл бұрын
Where did you buy it?
@rjunior20038 жыл бұрын
I got mine on ebay, about $100 and had a muffler shop weld it in place. Only thin I had to do was use red lock tight on every bolt so that it doesn't vibrate loose. Had it for a year now, no issues. You can get higher quality ones on jegs or summit racing.

Forged rods & pistons. LS9 CAM. ID1000 injectors, dual fuel pumps. High flow fuel rail. On C16 Turbonetics stage 2 kit on this video it was 1000rwhp Now the car is doing 1200+ at 18psi no extra mods.

what is the difference between the stage 1 and 2?
@rjunior20038 жыл бұрын
+danny03cobra bigger turbo with a 75mm billet compressor wheel and 75mm turbine wheel. Also includes bigger waste gates. At a cheaper price than the stage one. Doesn't include fuel injectors, spark plugs or tune and it's not carb legal. But people that want to make big power don't really care for that.

do you have to run two different tunes open vs closed? you dont lean out with them open? im thinking of picking up a turbonetics kit but i dont want to lose my cam chop and open header sound haha. also are you running catless ? i think i saw another post that said you were tuned by jannetty .. did you find that to be worth it over the kit canned tune? thanks!
@rjunior20039 жыл бұрын
No it's the same tune, I have a mass density tune and it compensates :) spool is increase dramatically with it open do. Traction is a real issue 1st 2nd and sometimes 3rd depending on road and weather conditions. The sound of the car does change a lot. If you look at my videos I had long tubes with flowmasters before the turbo and I loved it. After the turbo I didn't like it until I added the cutout. With the turbo there was rasp that I didn't like. That's why I added the resonated magnaflow X pipe. With the cut out I can hear my cam chop real nice still :) I don't have cats... Over all I love the setup now. Sleeper, and when I need to beast! People don't expect it it's awesome :D
@robertstinman78149 жыл бұрын
Awesome that's exactly what I was hoping. I'm cammed with headers / cut outs now and it's hard to think of having a quite car again which is inevitable with the single turbo set ups I feel like .. untill I saw this haha

Did you install the H.U.D on your vehicle if yes from where did you order it and was it a bitch to install it?
@rjunior20039 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy, yes I installed it my self. It was ordered from Gen5DIY.com I've been meaning to upgrade to the color one, I suggest you get that one. If order from there it comes with the plug and play harness :) Installation is not hard but it does take time. You'll remove all the dash including airbags and steering wheel. Don't take short cuts and make sure you have a power cutting tool and a steady hand. It's worth every minute of your time :) I love that thing :)
@MrAirgunfan9 жыл бұрын
+Rodolfo Santiago the color hud? So it all comes in a kit to install it? And on the zl1 bumper do you know if it will fit with the heritage grill?
@rjunior20039 жыл бұрын
+Arturo Vasquez yeah there is a color HUD for the 14 plus I believe. It fits the 2010 too :) the kit has everything you need including the plastic bezel. My buddy has that grill. It fits the zl1 bumper no problem.
I have a question may sound stupid but do you remove the supercharger from the ss and add turbos ?
@rjunior20039 жыл бұрын
Not at all... Only the ZL1 is supercharged. The SS is actually N/A. Meaning it has nether turbo or supercharger. Until I added one that is :D There are cases where people removed their supercharger for a turbos :) not uncommon actually!

How do you deal with emissions? I love the build I am doing TSP B3 114 LSA and this turbo kit as well..
@rjunior20039 жыл бұрын
***** Hey buddy,I haven’t had to smog the car yet, but the system was setup with high flow Catalytic converters that I could easily remove. (Also the tune can make or break your smog check) this video was prior to the turbo setup.With the turbo setup- the exhaust note changed a LOT! and I wasn’t happy at all with the sound. So I scraped the Flowmasters, I did a muffler delete with a Magnaflow resonated X pipe, nice and quiet but the best part no drone and no RASP!, and for insane LOUD I did a 3" electric cutout after the turbo downpipe. it sound fucking sick! I love the turbo sound thru the exhaust. I'm also quite happy I can control the volume with a push of a button. ;)
