Great simple fix. I made a quick mandrel to hold the drum while sanding by using a 3 inch long piece of 10mm id tubing and puting an inside chamfer on the end where the drum will be inserted. The drum drive shaft is a press fit in the 10mm hole and will not spin when sanding and pulls off to remove. Dust with grahite and it runs extremely smooth. The mandrel removes the rotational eccentricity caused by clamping a square object in a triangular hole. FYI i used my lathe to true up the parts.

I was having problems with the #1 station, the sizing die, with the case hitting the mouth. I did what you recommended but if your grinding isn't smooth the die holder can move when tightening it down. I end up grinding the end of the tightening bolt to a point and voila, works like a champ! Reloading 45's I have no problems with alignment so it's obviously the 9mm plate that I use is slightly off. Appreciate your videos!

I noticed the crank rod on my unit has to be in the front hole rather than the rear hole on the case slider. Otherwise the slider hits the press frame. It works but mine is the only one I’ve seen that way. 🤔

You can adjust the long rod in and out just a bit with the mounting bolt, also I had to bend the long rod a smidge by hand to make the timing right. run the press with one arm and pull the rod with the other and it will give you an idea of how far out you need to be as to not bind on the press at the top of the stroke., as you can see in the video it just clears, some guys will also bevel the edge on the top of the slider.

Smoothing the drum and using graphite helps. I also find the smaller hole of the small charge drums tend to leak less with fine powder.

another easy tip. when reloading 556 natto that darn crimp is a real pain in the neck. lol. however if you use a Phillips screwdriver bit in the cordless it puts a nice little chamfer and primer slide right in it only takes a second per case. it doesn't cut the metal it just pushes it back! simple fix for NATO crimp!

Run a hopper of powder thru the powder measure. It makes the parts marry up. This used to be in the instructions, The wiper is the same idea in the perfect powder measure. It is a proven design that does not cut powder. It is difficult to grasp for those coming from a perspective of cutting powder as normal.

@@thefixitchannel I love your channel and I love my Lee 6000 pro, which I am fine tuning thanks to your videos. I also have an FA X-10, but I can do more with the Lee for a fraction of the cost and complexity. The X-10 is a good press with a few kinks being worked out by FA which is a good company. But, there aren't enough stations on the X-10 after the powder drop to allow you to separately powder ck, bullet feed, seat & crimp like we can with the Lee. I know FA has come out with their combination bullet/seat product that addresses that but I think I will wait for some feedback.

How do u get the case pusher to go in alittle more?
@thefixitchannel

There are 4 things that you can do to adjust for case feed travel, 1- the plastic slider that the case drops into has two holes for the silver arm, the rear one will give you the most travel. 2- the mounting screw on the frame moves in and out ( but not by much ) to move the rod in closer. 3- the black plastic piece that slides up and down on the rod needs to have the right tension or it will stop driving the case and just slide up the rod. 4 I've had to tweak the rod that comes up from the frame just a bit by tapping it with my palm just enough to give me the travel I needed. Hope that helps ! Stay Safe!

Good information. I just purchased a new autodrum to add to my others. I used it right away with some of my older drums that were already adjusted, so I haven't really looked at the condition of the new drums. I'll clean them up as you suggest. I've also experienced my older autodrums starting to hang up and not return fully after dropping powder. This will result in light charges. It's not a matter of the drum being too tight, but the spring system requiring cleaning and lubrication. I typically rinse the whole area with Hornady gun cleaner/lube and let dry being careful not to spray anywhere where powder will make contact. After this it will be fine for thousands of charges. I've done this maybe 3 times in the past 5 years.

I own presses from many manufacturers, but I always come back to my Lee turret. I've been contemplating a step up to progressive, and the 6 pack has my interest, so I appreciate the information you provide. I just watched your video about the fix for the auto drum. It's been my go to for years, and I just purchased a new one. I'll give it a touch-up as you suggested.

I agree, i was skeptical about getting the loadmaster from all the negativity i had heard about it, once i got it setup and went through the really short learning curve mine has ran like a swiss watch, it makes absolute great ammo. Theres really no tinkering that they say you have to do, what ive experienced is just general setup procedures for different projectiles or calibers, once its set its set.

Interesting. I've been using the Auto-Drum for .390 charges as I normally use the Auto-Disk, but the Drum I've never had issues with. I coat those drums with graphite powder when I first put a "new" one in and never had issues. I've got a friend who's making me a "wrench" for the knob that tightens down the drums too, fingers slip off of it some.. or I'm just getting old and lazy haha.

@thefixitchannel

Yes something like a nylon or even a metal wiper that had spring behind it would work well, if you polish the drum before you start using the powder measure it actually works well, Lee will send you a new wiper if you ask them, they genuinely are nice folk.

Mine is very accurate, easily to within 0.05gr with alk kinds of powder. Very fine powders like H110 do tend to leak grains on the bench, but still drop accurately. Tuning the drums per this video, lubing with smalk amount of powdered graphite, and using the drums with smaller cups for small charges work best.

@@thefixitchannel - You probably remembered the primer waste tube from your LoadMaster after making the video. :-) Bundling it with the drop tubes for the case feeder was a bit of misdirection. BTW - I uploaded a goofy video of an idea that I had to transfuse cast bullets from the resizing operation on my Classic Cast press to a bullet feeder on my LoadMaster press. I did it as a lark, almost a joke, but even in the Rube Goldberg setup I made, it was surprisingly useful. It allowed me to avoid a lot of double or triple handling of bullets and made the overall reloading process much more efficient. That crazy idea worked way better than I expected.
