Well done Joe. You H Cap will come down with a few more games under your belt. Get a few lessons of the pro. It will help you a great deal . From a 8.4 handicapper 😊

Dartmouth is a lovely course, I played it a few years ago. One curious thing was the number of golf balls we found, we stopped collecting about halfway round and when we got back we counted over sixty. We even found them in the middle of one fairway and there was absolutely no one else on that part of the course. We waited five full minutes and it was like the golfers had disappeared into thin air. Spooky.

Excellent talk. Thank you for your story and so glad you are better. Golf is a great game for practicing mindfulness to improve focusing and relaxing to improve mental health. Just getting back to my game after 10 years and I am an "elderly" woman but have anxiety issues and know this game puts me in the present by just focusing on the hole I'm on, the club in my hand, the lie of the ball...oh gosh, want to get out on the course now. Just subscribed.

Glad to see your consistency is improving since the last time I saw you, well done. I noticed that your set-up from the tee looked like your right shoulder is leaning forward at times, this might account for coming over the top and slicing the ball to the right. Or it might be the camera angle 🤔. Any way good luck👍

@@MindfulGolf_ I’m sorry, that’s a pet hate of mine, when players don’t count their shots properly and making themselves feel as if they’re better players. Don’t get me wrong, I’m shite myself and my favourite saying is “you can’t polish a turd”…….. if it was down to being able to buy the best kit, I could easily do that but it won’t mask the fact I’m shite,😂😂😂😂

When someone is a mid to high handicapper, i think it helps hugely to understand how to aim for your handicap pars and not the course pars. Being a 28 handicap, you get one extra shot for all 18 holes, then a second shot for the hardest 10 holes on the course (the scorecard will list the difficulty of each hole 1-18th difficulty). So if a par 5 is one of the hardest holes, instead of feeling like a failure for a double bogey 7, understand that your personal par is actually a 7. This sort of thinking will help you enjoy your round much more. Another way to enjoy high handicap golf, is to count your Stableford points. If you're not sure how that works, do a search on Google or KZbin. It's important to be realistic with your golf. Most golfers aren't and that's why they spend the whole round swearing under their breath haha. All the best for your golf journey!

Thanks mate, yes I think that's a really good point... And something I dont do nearly enough!!! Really appreciate that. Might do a vid based on stableford points actually :)

Thanks for sharing pal. Nicely presented vlog. I can relate as I had my own struggles during the year, ended it breaking down, but did realise that talking really helps. Calling Samaritans, MIND and counselling helped. It is a serious thing and glad you feel better and pouring your energy now into golf and work/projects. Btw i have a similar putting green at home. Enjoy!

Interesting video. Just try slowing down the back swing. It will help control the swing better. I have always swing like a looney until this was explained to me. It does work
@MindfulGolf_7 ай бұрын
Ah thanks mate, appreciate that. Funnily enough it was only when watching back the video that I realised how rushed my back swing looks!! Will bear that in mind at the range and try slow it down. Cheers mate
@That_Cajun_Guy6 ай бұрын
@@MindfulGolf_ Saw this comment and just wanted to modify this thought a bit. It isn't your backswing speed, it's the speed of transition that makes it appear "fast" and decreases control. If you are powering the club all the way to the top and then immediately switching to downswing, that's a violent transition and your brain can't react to any minor adjustments that need to be made. Keep your backswing speed but try feeling like you let the club "float" up through transition and let the weight of your arms and the club start the downswing. It will give your brain just a tiny bit more time to make adjustments. If you are a motorsports fan, think of it as an F1 car entering a tight curve. It's not 100% throttle, Steering to full lock as you put the brake pedal to the floor and then back 100% throttle. There's a balance that occurs between the entrance of the turn, the apex and then exiting the curve. Power the club back, navigate the curve (transition) by using momentum and then add throttle as you see the exit. You end up being more in control and will likely pick up club head speed with less effort.
