Watching this on the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday and remembering how many of my friends and neighbours were so cruelly murdered that January day , I still remember as cold as the day was my blood ran colder as each shot rang out knowing a paratrooper had just shot another innocent victim , Bloody Sunday is burned into the memory of every Irish person as a stark reminder of how cruel the British state could be , the massacre of the innocent, 7 of the victims were only 17 years old, young men cut down in cold blood by what we now know was a pre planned operation and that’s why 50 years on no one was ever convicted for the murders even though their names were known, they were acting under orders and a trial would have exposed top level members of the British government as well as army top brass . God give them peace as well as their families who have struggled in a long fight for justice for all their loved ones murdered that day 🙏❤️🙏

My boyfriend has a memory of seeing this animation alongside another very similar one for the same song in a contest, where his class were some of the people who voted on the winner. Don't suppose anyone knows the other video, if it's up anywhere? This was in Derry in Northern Ireland btw - thank you!!!

Saw this back when studying at university in 1997. I used to order a DVD called 'Shorts' which would be a compilation of short filmmakers. I remember watching this transfixed, just as I still do today. So many creative choices all coming together in what is still to this day, a perfect artistic achievement. Bravo. It's as fresh today in 2020 as it was in 1996. So impressive and emotional. The lack of cuts means it pulls you towards it from the moment it starts. Exhausting, hypnotic, sensual and haunting. I love this piece of work.

I imagined it to be more like a skeleton feast with rowdy dancers and clarinets and stuff, not a violin solo, but it's still awesome nonetheless

This is simply amazing! I can notice the black frames that were inserted to keep the whole thing a bit more fluid I think it might be because youtube is pushing frames differently but still it's amazing!
