There are actually 4 types of diving, you missed shore diving, Are you really a diver or just reading a script?

I mention shore diving, with regards to local dive shops and with diving safaris/resorts. Are you sure you watched the video?

All of Egypt’s coast boarders on the Northern Red Sea. Mid Red Sea is Sdan, south is Djibouti.
@DIVEindotcom11 сағат бұрын
Yes it is a little confusing. However in terms of diving, many operators in Egypt refer to these three segments of the Red Sea as North, South and Deep South. So for example, if you google Deep South Red Sea, you'll get Egyptian diving results, even though the most southerly parts of the Red Sea of course border Eritrea & Djibouti.
@Freddie_StareКүн бұрын
Elephantstone, really, not heard of that site. “Yolanda” is actually Jolanda, named after the wreck.

Egypt’s Red Sea is sub-tropical, not tropical.

*A very new diver here but I have the bug!* looking to dive in the UK and further! Thank you for your review its very informative especially for a newbie. Maybe for future reviews, a comparison of prices ranges would be nice to include. I like the look of the sheerwater tern tx, especially as it has room for growth but is very practical day to day. Also it allows you to purchase the swift transmitter seperately, reducing the the initial cost, which we all know helps. My preference also favours the screen, with an automatic backlight which I feel will help in poor visibility or darker conditions. I would only entertain rechargeable products but that maybe due to my own hesitation with not sealing the unit back correctly. Your review has given me food for thought regarding the dive watch and has allowed me to recognise important features from your knowledge base and my personal preferences. Thank you, I will be watching more stay safe :)
@DIVEindotcom10 сағат бұрын
Welcome to the club! Anything by Shearwater to be honest is a sure bet. Tern Tx and Teric Tx are both similar when it comes to that wrist watch design and the usability/menu navigation. The Teric is a little less advanced, but since you're newly certified I don't think you'll be hitting 200m (let alone Tern's 120m) any time soon 😛 Where in the UK are you diving? Did you get certified there?

I would say that the cressie aquawing is my favorite because I love the quality of the brand. All of the stuf is super from cressie. Thank you and I wil wait for the next video to explore other gear.

I’d like to see a review for the garmin descent x50i
@dirtjumpjesus61202 күн бұрын
Im a new diver so this dive computer world for me is new! I already have a garmin watch that isn’t for diving so it’s hard to justify buying something like the mk3i I’d say currently I would value additional features I’m not currently certified to use that way I can keep the same computer as I grow in the sport!
@DIVEindotcom11 сағат бұрын
I would say if you're new of scuba diving, and like a big screen (referring to your comment on X50i) then the Shearwater Peregrine could be a good starting point. There is an air intergrated and non-ai version. Personally I would say get Ai version so you add a transmitter if you want to or if even choose to resell it for a more advanced computer, then the Ai version (Tx as Shearwater calls it) will be probably easier to resell.

The fact that go pro requires a subscription to access editing modes means thats out for me.
@DIVEindotcom11 сағат бұрын
The Insta360 and DJI both have free apps, which are very good so why GoPro has decided to make that paid feature is either very brave or very stupid. We do really like the GoPro 13, but this subscription move was a big no for us. Which camera you using now?
@MysticalDragon7310 сағат бұрын
@DIVEindotcom I'm actually trying to decide on a camera. I plan on diving one or two days a month once it warms, plus any for work. I'm leaning towards the dji atm but haven't decided yet.
@MysticalDragon7310 сағат бұрын
Ill never support a subscription option. Especially since its underwater mode which is what i want.. I think gopro has gotten complacent because they were the only ones around and everyone knows their brand. Now acepro 2 and dji have stepped in with better cameras

I've been thinking about getting a Garmin dive watch to move my dives with the rest of my activity data, since the rest of my life is Garmin tracked haha. But to find out that they dropped a bigger, better, and over all more amazing dive computer... the size is defiantly a big perk, and the multi or even single integration would be a game changer I'm sure, but i think the best asset the X50i would bring is the fact that you can track all of the dive data almost at once under water. I know you can assess your dive data out of water in the dive app, but the sheer size of this beauty allows you to track and review even on the dive! Honestly the size of this is why there are so many tools shoved into it. So many beautiful tools and programs... I might have to save up more then I thought I would haha

I've been wearing the Mk3i in and out of the water for maybe 2 years now, so I know all about that data 😂 Diving wise, I was using the SH Perdix 2 before I had this Mk3i. And yes the Mk3i does look sleeker & sexier (rule number one of diving, always look good), but I can't deny that the Perdix is just easier to read & use underwater. We hope to get out hands on this X50i and see how it compares with the Perdix, and whether it can knock SH off the top of the leaderboard.

I like any product made by Shearwater. They Seem to get both Tech and the recreational diver in mind. I had a Cochrane years ago, Nemesis IIa, for years. Trying to find something similar to that has been a challenge. Shearwater fit that bill.

The ability to tie in my dives to the rest of Garmin data is priceless. As for why this over the MKiii, is the advantage of being able to use that data while on dive. I just can't see myself being able to track any of it on a watch face.

If I can’t afford it, and also don’t need such technical equipment that the Mk3i andShearwaters offer, i wonder if the G1Descent a good option. I’m 100+ , maybe 30or 40 year. Also wonder if one of the basic cressis( Leonardo or Donatello) would suit me just fine.

@DIVEindotcom Great work Torben and team. I'm looking forward to seeing your hands-on review of this computer. My favourite features: 1. the screen size; the largest screen on a wrist mounted dive computer improving legibility, and the touch screen is an bonus added. 2. The DiveView Maps & Topomaps; though I'd like to see Garmin integrate their recently acquired Boating app (formerly Navionics) onto their Descent, Fenix and Tactix ranges. 3. The back-up light. When you did your battery life testing on the Descent MK3i (and other computers) what was the water temperature where the computer achieved 175hours in dive mode? Following that, a suggestion for your future battery life testing; we're all familiar with the effects excessively cold and warm temperatures have on lithium battery devices. All my diving is in water that ranges from 4-16°C; could you run the battery life tests again in water at 5°C, 10°C, 15°C, 20°C, 25°C and 30°C so that we can better understand the impact water temperature has upon the battery life? I appreciate I'm asking for 5 weeks of extra testing.

I could see this being really useful for vacation dive centers or instructors, but probably too gimmicky for a personal setup. Like it could be helpful for DMs to at a glance see issues with divers (not everyone has developed perfect instincts to catch every problem), or for instructors to have data to talk about with their students.
@DIVEindotcom4 күн бұрын
Good point! Though, the cost of the whole unit might hold most dive centers back.

If I had my choice of those (and I'm in the market for one), I'd probably go with the Hollis ST Elite with the stainless steel backplate and the ST35 wing. I should add that I have some shoulder issues as well so while I'd like the more minimalist setup, I'm going to need some of those more comfort adjustments to the harness.

I thought the insta360 x4 is watertight by itself. Why the case?
@DIVEindotcom9 сағат бұрын
The X4 has a waterproof rating of 10m, so if you wanna diving you'll need the dive case (164ft / 50m). But due to the magnification of water, the X4 "invisible stitching doesn't work and so you need to place it in a dive case for it properly stitch. To be honest, this is a bit of an error by Insta360, as it means snorkellers will still need a case.

It is interesting, but I think it is too much technology to depend on when you are under. It is one thing to have transmitter for your air supply, but to have A.I. built into your first and second stage we are going to see more dive injuries because they depended too much on it. Also, it would suck if you were just about to start a dive and your system locks you out because it needs a firmware update. Thank you for the video!

Aqualung Aquasense sounds interesting. Would be nice to have help with breathing performance. I agree I will need more details on what happens if the battery dies does the regulator continue working normally. I would also like to know how easy the hoses length and maintenance can be performed. Concerned if they are proprietor hoses would be concerning if you have an issue on a trip and need a replacement.

I am still waiting on (2) innovative features in a dive computer. The first would be a boat dive locator and the second is an underwater real time chart plotter. Now Sea Star makes a stand alone boat locator. Which I will test soon and place on my channel. As far as the underwater chart polter I am working with a company out of Singapore that has created a surface attentena that will allow a diver to see their position underwater, which I will also review and video once I receive the equipment.

It'd be VERY impressive if it could link up to your phone on the boat/on shore and then pass through all that ocean to send you your messages, but luckily we aren't there yet. The sending of messages is just between other Mk3is in the water, and messages like "are you okay/help etc.
