Hi!!! nice vid.... Is there a way to automate the process so that all 4K 24fps clips have one color and the HD 120fps clips have another color?

Thank you. There is a way. Swich to details view in bins window of resolve. Sort according to 4k or hd Select it and change label Hope it works for your need.

I've backed up. Can I open this back up without screwing up the original? I haven't done the restore part yet. Is that needed to complete the backup? I'm worried that my computer will get confused and think the back-up is the main one. Thanks

You can restore it into a new folder in resolve. Then nobody will get confused

@@Moundain I'm not sure where my main DaVinci is stored. I'm using a Mac. In applications the last modified was in April. It's also in "Movies" with the correct last time I used it but it's called back up and it's a bunch of folders that are all numbers and letters. I think it's called back up because I had to used a back up back in June. The reason I'm skeptical on what to do is I'm not sure where to open my main DaVinci t if I open the back up. I had been lassoing my projects and hitting export projects to back up previously. But DaVinci isn't letting me do that anymore. That's where I came across your fine explanation. I open DaVinci, like I open everything, using the Dock. I hope this isn't a word salad. It also sounds like "Restore" is used once you open the back-up file not during the backup process? Thanks

You don't need to worry about where it's stored. When you restore it asks you for a new folder (inside resolve project manager window itself).. as shown in the video. In case you have further confusion you can contact us on [email protected] with screen shots.

The audio disappears when I have proxy on. It comes back when I switch to "Prefer camera originals". Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

May be the audio is encoded to a wrong format in proxy. Just play the proxy in source monitor or any other video player to confirm

lol, DO NOT use h264 as a proxy file format on PC. DNxHD will be much better as it's an actual editing format.

DnxHd has better colours and better as an editing format. But more graphics card has inbuilt encoder and decoder for h264 and the file size is less

I have backups turned on for all my projects. if they are located in the same place (directory structure in cloud) on both machines, how should I restore all the projects on my new machine ? if I do what you have described above will it re-link all the media as its in the same location on both machines?

If this doesn't work, consider renaming the file extension/s from .mp3 to .m4a. It worked immediately.

@@Moundain Well you see, I have had this issue of mp3 files not inserting into my media bins. These files did not have any emojis or special characters. However, I changed the file extension from .mp3, to .m4a. Upon doing this, I could insert the audio files into my media bin without any issues or aberrations in quality. I only brought up this point in case anyone here couldn't fix this issue with the help from the video. Bottom line, this method worked for me, and I thought I'd share in case anyone needed it. I appreciated the video even though it didn't work for me specifically. :-)

if you add a timecode to a timeline and use this timeline in another timeline (nested), the timecode is gone. So it's useless if you want to cut a longer clip within a nested timeline.

Dear Lens. Data burn in is common for all sequences. Incase you need seperate data on different timelines, you can save your choices as a template and swich it between sequences.
