Its better to learn min B1 before come to Germany for job or study. And min B2 after coming to Germany
@FAJIGBerlin3 күн бұрын
Hi @AsifSaifuddinAuvipy It depends on your goals. If your job or studies are in English, you can manage without German at first. But for better job opportunities, higher salaries, and smoother integration, learning German is crucial. German isn’t mandatory for everyone, but if you plan to stay long-term, it’s worth investing the time to learn. It’ll make life easier and open more doors!

@FAJIGBerlin I came here last year with a tech job. Not knowing german was very problematic for me. I lost the job in 4 months. Have I knew the lang my life would be less overwhelming. Also to survive in a recession prone country, knowing german will open more interviews

Hey, I've been living in Germany for a little over 5 years now and I can already speak the language fluently. I REALLY want to get into IT and secure a career that i know i can grow in and eventually have a good salary. I have a High School Diploma and 0 IT background. Can someone like me land an entry level IT job when i get certifications such as CompTIA A+, NETWORK+ and so on? Im currently working on my A+ in hopes that it will help me get my foor in the door. Please let me know if im wasting my time?
@FAJIGBerlin3 күн бұрын
Hi @MrInglorious You’re absolutely NOT wasting your time! Starting with certifications like CompTIA A+ is a great move for breaking into IT, especially since you’re fluent in German and have been living in Germany for over 5 years-that’s a big advantage for local job opportunities. Entry-level jobs often value certifications and formal education. Once you complete A+, consider advancing to Network+ or Security+, or even vendor-specific ones like Cisco CCNA for networking or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner for cloud computing. IT is all about learning and growing-stick with it, and you’ll land that entry-level job before you know it. You may watch our video training once you get all the needed skills (if you are in Germany, you can skip the 5 year requirement) www.findajobingermany.de/
@MrInglorious3 күн бұрын
@FAJIGBerlin thank you so much for your answer and confirmation! That makes me happy, since I was told by some others I can forget about getting a Job in IT without a formal education (university or ausbildung) even if I go and get some certifications proving knowledge and skill. Yes, after much research it was definitely my plan to go into AWS and Security + since I would like to get specifically into cyber security. Thanks again for your time!

Hi @malikumarsultan9640 There is no demand for .NET currently. You need to have at least 5 years of experience in Node and React to join the program. You may skip this requirement if you have the Opportunity Card, in which case we can start working immediately.

@FAJIGBerlin10 күн бұрын
Hi @NathaJames-s8n You’re on the right track here, but German companies generally require at least 5 years of relevant project experience before they consider hiring you from abroad. At least, that’s our experience and which is why it would be too premature for our program. We invite you to keep following us. Your time will come.

I have a question. If you have a recognized diploma and get opportunitie card, does the job needs to be in this area of experience that your diplma is recognized or it can be in different field so you can get working visa? For example I get recognition from ZAB that my dipmoa is recognized as Batchelor in Law and I have opportunity to get contract from some employers to work full time as track driver, can I get working visa? Thanks in advance for your answer.
@FAJIGBerlin14 күн бұрын
Hi @DjidjaLe With the new Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte), you don’t necessarily need a job offer in the exact field of your recognized diploma to obtain a work visa. The Opportunity Card is a points-based system that allows skilled workers to seek employment in Germany, even outside their immediate field of study or diploma recognition. However, for specific job contracts, like one for a truck driver, eligibility for a work visa would depend on meeting other requirements, such as relevant qualifications or licenses (like a German truck driving license). If you have a recognized Bachelor’s in Law, it can boost your points for the Opportunity Card, but for a truck driver role, you would still need to fulfill any specific job-related requirements.

Hi @pras2visu Yes, you can get a DevOps job in Germany from India! 🇩🇪 Interviews are usually challenging, with a focus on practical skills, cultural fit, and technical knowledge (like CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes). German interviews are often more structured and thorough than in India, so be ready for hands-on tasks. You are welcome to check our website and watch our video training www.findajobingermany.de/. I’d love to sign up for your service as a Technical Project Manager, but I noticed on your questionnaire that it states project management isn’t considered part of IT - even though it often is. It’s disappointing to see this misunderstanding, especially with the absence of Technical, IT, and R&D Project Manager roles, which are clearly missing here. These roles play a crucial part in the tech industry

Hi @liori_M Any kind of management, support, or consulting roles, German language skills are required. Otherwise, you have to be based in Germany and hold a valid work permit for eligibility.

Hi If I got Opportunity Card Visa and I want to postpone my travel is it possible. for example my visa start date is 15/12/2024 to 14/12/2025. But I want to travel by 25/01/2025 because of Christmas holidays. Is it possible or do I have to get a fresh visa.
@FAJIGBerlinАй бұрын
Hi @kunalsrivastava1248 You can travel to Germany anytime within the visa’s validity period. In your example, if your visa is valid from 15/12/2024 to 14/12/2025, you can enter Germany any time during this period, including 25/01/2025. If your visa expires before you are able to travel, or if you need to extend your stay beyond its expiration, you would need to contact the German authorities (e.g., embassy or consulate) to ask for an extension. In most cases, applying for a new visa is required if the original visa has expired, since extensions for long-term visas, such as the Opportunity Card, are not always granted. To confirm specific rules or to address any unique circumstances, it’s always a good idea to reach out to the German consulate or embassy where you applied for the visa. They can provide precise guidance based on your situation.

Dear FAJIG, I have BS Computer Science degree. I checked in anabin database my university is H+ but in H+ BS information technology is mentioned not Computer Science. I just need to confirm that do I need to get zab equelancy certificate for that or this pdf will work. I have to apply for Chancenkarte.
@FAJIGBerlinАй бұрын
Hi @malikumarsultan9640 Since your university is categorized as H+ in the Anabin database, it means that the institution itself is recognized in Germany. However, if the specific degree ("Computer Science") is not listed, while "Information Technology" is, this may raise questions about the direct equivalency of your particular program. - If the degree title in the Anabin database matches closely (e.g., Information Technology is considered close to Computer Science), the PDF may suffice for recognition. - If there is a significant difference between the degree listed in Anabin and your actual degree (Computer Science vs. Information Technology), or if you're uncertain, it is advisable to obtain a ZAB equivalency certificate to avoid any potential issues with recognition, especially if it's for immigration, employment, or academic purposes. The ZAB certificate provides official confirmation of how your foreign qualification compares to German standards.
