Anyone who's never read Edgar Allen Poes essay on how he wrote the Raven, really should if you aspire to write. He used a different but technically similar means of writing and revising, every word and syllable with purpose.

Peter Pan Pinocchio Peterson clown sermonising about truth 😃 That part of his script is quite credible, I should say, it had me fooled in the past. Truth, Peterson? Only men speak truth, not boys who refuse to grow up from the shadow of their Jungian father or The Heavenly Father who castrates them more or less symbolically before he kills them. Truth, Peterson? Or speaking the truth only within certain limits, careful not to upset the apple cart of those who fund you and write your script? What the fuck is that biblical series about? Don’t fool yourself, boy, with archetypes acrobatics! It’s damned lie. And you know it.

Jordan’s Self Authoring Applications effectiveness is not valid If you read the research he promotes In the research HE DID called Setting, Elaborating, and Reflecting on Personal Goals Improves Academic Performance, he showed no statistically significant improvement, The control and experiment group stated with only a 2.3 GPA and the control group improved to 2.4, and his group improved only to 2.9. A .5 GPA at such low performance is not good proof because it is only a 6% improvement. In the research HE DID called A scalable goal-setting intervention closes both the gender and ethnic minority achievement gap, this research showed no improvement of performance and it showed possible disparate impact discrimination regarding student applicants, because students quit the applications for schools. The report stated “We do strongly believe, however, that the probability of students participating in the intervention and completing it was increased by the fact that it was a required component of the first-year curriculum itself, complete with deadlines. The goal-setting intervention, although not particularly time-consuming, can be sufficiently demanding to potentially dissuade students-particularly those who are likely to perform poorly-from completing it as a mere extracurricular activity. And the final research HE DID called Using Future Authoring to Improve Student Outcomes showed even worse results regarding ant improvement of students performance. Here is the results The average first-term GPA for the treatment and control group students is 73.1 and 71.3, respectively. The difference between the GPAs is only around 1.8 grade points (2.6% difference), which is fairly small on a 100-point scale. Average first-term GPA is around 68.2 and 71.2 in the control and treatment groups for males (3 grade point difference or 4.4% difference), whereas for females, the average first-term GPAs in the control and treatment groups are 74.2 and 74.9. So Jordan is trying to oversell his actual performance?

I was hearing voices while on abilify and had akatheshia so bad that I frantically went and smoked weed to calm down. I did not stop hearing voices until I deeply self reflected as the drugs did nothing. Only started hearing them because of a traumatic experience. Narcotics hurt much more than they help and I'm frankly tired of people who claimed they were saved them. It's the same as some stoners who claim that weed isn't addictive and that it's all sunshine and rainbows being a chronic weed abuser. I realise some people have been helped, but these people give rise to those like Matt Lauer who claim the drugs are completely harmless becsuse they "know a person" who benefitted. Not to mention the placebo people experience

I lived a painful life with my husband for exactly 5 years He was manipulative, calculating & basically a liar He was physically abusive to the point that as I write this, he is in jail facing several felonies with the potential of going to prison for domestic abuse During this time I discovered the lies He hurt me physically but he also betrayed me in every possible way He managed to inflict pain & agony But ironically, regardless that he left me in a financial disaster with a 7 month old, I feel relieved I am finally going to disconnect for good His life is ruined, he ruined it himself and he has absolutely no one to turn to It’s true that everyone meets their maker I’m just glad that I’m alive and able to protect my daughter & I’m able to give her a peaceful wonderful life I don’t know how I’ll do it, but I will make it happen I’ll fight until I’m able to remove his parental rights These individuals that live a life of falsehood eventually collapse It’s a matter of giving it time

At 34 months out from stopping benzos cold turkey after 28-1/2 years taken as directed, I'm still not back to normal yet, not even close to normal. I can't imagine being able to write a book while in the acute phase. No way. He's an extraordinary man.

Sounds like John Taylor Gato doesn't he? Even Thomas Sowell has talked quite a bit about the state of education and the damage that it's doing to this nation and the world. I fear that not enough people will wake up to all of this in time to save any healthy societies. The system we have keeps the ignorant ignorant and tries to stifle the intelligent, creative types to fit a mold of their choosing.

I'm a prolific author but my writing process is more intuitive. I can understand how being as minutely methodical as Dr. Peterson can be helpful to a would-be writer just finding their feet (or prepping their pen), but tbh I don't think that re-writing a sentence fifty times (if I understood him correctly) is time-efficient; and it's not sustainable or even something I would recommend if someone has a lot to say and a virtual library stored within. You'd be writing for hundreds of years ... and ain't none of us got that kind of time. Of course, there are many roads to Rome and many avenues leading to Amazon (etc.) bookselling, but what has worked for me is developing my instinctive feel for the wording I craft or produce, by reading quality literature (including classics), penning poetry, listening to gifted orators, and journaling (to name just a few). And, yes (of course) this would all take time to really soak into our writing-ability psyche, but it would be more economical (from a literary standpoint), in the long run. If you write intuitively you can jump from sentence one (your draft sentence) to your perfected sentence in well less than half the attempts that going through fifty rounds of editing would take. Much respect to Dr. Peterson, but just thought I'd offer an alternative strategy ...

I agree with him 100%. You don't know. I was stopped cold turkey after taking Klonopin 1.5 to 2 mg as directed, for 28-1/2 years. It was the closest I ever came to killing myself, wished for death a lot during the 5-6 months of the acute phase, but I knew it would destroy my children so didn't act on it. I'm 32 months out now and still can't sleep without waking at least three times in four hours, severe heart pounding and racing now has a formal name called "paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia". Burning all over now has a formal name "small fiber neuropathy". So very tired. I'm now 69, a formerly great mom and gramma, still praying to get my personality back in a body that doesn't burn all the time.
