@@user-wm7mp2fl1p actually, Wong Shun Leung was NOT Yip Man’s first student in Hong Kong; that honour goes to the late Sifu Leung Sheung. Sifu Wong Shun Leung began his training under the late Grandmaster about 3 years later.

I think it's a very good exercise that makes the chi sau much more realistic because they are actually movements that can be implemented in a specific combat situation - if the partner/opponent does NOT cooperate, which they always do when "rolling" happens. I'm still amazed at how little these brilliant videos with such valuable WSL knowledge are watched - thank you for this wonderful inspiration, dear Sifu!🙏🙏🙏

When using the 5 and 7 footwork do you use heels inline or have them slightly offset to ensure "facing" and not fighting your own body?
@WSLVTMalaysiaАй бұрын
@@CARPGURUS as described elsewhere in this series, when describing the basic ‘Saam Gok Ma’ stance, the ideal alignment is for the toes of the forward foot should be in line with the heel of the rear foot, thus allowing the body to fully face (remain in ‘Chiu Ying’) with the opponent, preventing the body from fighting itself.

The combination of Laan Sao (usu. to make/preserve space), and a kick is presented in many different lineages of Ving Tsun; usually as the upper bodies guard while kicking. The real difference here is the subtle elbow/forearm/wrist action off the body, allowing Laan to act as a lever or wedge; recovering a lost/compromised position...
