Sifu Peterson, first off thank deeply for sharing your great depth of knowledge of WSLVT both in print (of which I have purchased some) and online. You have expanded my love and understanding of VT immeasurably. Thank you. I have a question regarding your immediate example of Fook Sau and in particular Lin Siu Dai Da. So often we see examples of VT practitioners against the same ie other VT opponents. In this case using Fook Sau to a punch against a vertical punch beautifully demonstrating the Kuen Kuit but what about an example of this against more conventional boxing jab or cross? Thank you again and again! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Ving Tsun has a variety of “tools” for this very reason, as not all actions are suitable for all situations. Whilst ‘Fook Sau’ and the ‘Lin Siu Dai Da’ concepts represent the most ideal response to a linear attack, naturally it is necessary to “use the right tool for the job” when things are not ideal. As such, against attacks such as those you have suggested, we have actions such as ‘Paak Sau’, ‘Jat Sau’, ‘Cham Kiu Fook Sau’, etc, all of which can be used under such conditions to affect both attack & defence, not to mention the effective use of footwork to create the angles & distances necessary for their application.
