Just started watching last night. Really enjoying your journey, just know that 20 years ago, players were a lot more patient and when all of this was still new to EVERYONE. Hearing your enthusiasm screams to me that you are having just as magical of an experience and that makes me so happy!

Worst levels are behind you, Level 1- 10 are the worst levels in the game. Rest you have a decent set of tools.

Hey man, glad you're back playing WoW. Here are some tips. The questreward you picked up is an "offhand". Usually as a mage you can either use a 2handed weapon (mostly staves) or 2 1-handed weapons, a dagger + that orb for example you got as a reward. Usually I'd advise you to pick up staves because finding two good weapons is essentially harder than just normal one but in the end it's about preference and ressources. Don't forget to use your polymorph. You could've 2v1 the fight against Benny Blanco by keeping him in polymorph oh and don't forget to hold your right mouse button and move around the camera whilst walking that way you get better movement and don't have to press the "s" button and move in-reverse awkwardly :D. (I think by default the strafing buttons are "E" and "Q" but I'm not sure, since I always rebind these buttons to use my spells anyway

Only a year ago i took the same journey. My friends also didnt help, they preferred allowing me to figure things out for myself and its fir the best. If reading those walls of text get too much, maybe a voice add on would be nice, i remember skipping so much story because i didnt want to read so much dialogue.

Get a wand! Said it in the other vid, but go buy a wand. You're almost L13 so get that one. WAY WAY better than melee for casters.

for a new player, I'd suggest Frost. You get more crowd control and defensive options. You can pay to respec talents at your trainer, starts at 1 gold for the 1st time, 5g next time, and +5 each time after that to a cap of 50g

Love hearing new players try WoW. I cant imagine how lost you must feel on things you dont know. Its going to be great when you figure it all out! the random Warrior that helpd you kill the mobs. Always someone willing to help if you ask and if you tell them youre new.

2:12 Best tutorial ever, seriously! When I first played classic in 2019 I loved those help buttons. They never overwhelm you, they pop up right when you need them and they don’t go away, unless you click them away. The game is so good in explaining itself to the player one by one and enfolding it’s depth smoothly over time. Ever second level up, you can learn new skills, which you have to buy from the trainer, that is so smart! This makes you actually care about those decisions, read everything carefully and choose, which ones to spend your money on. WoW Classic has amazing gamedesign and is still outstanding, to this day!

General control tip most players rebind strafe left and right to the A and D keys and use right click to turn camera to free up Q and E for action bar binds.

What a great video. It's always so interesting to watch someone completely new, learning about the game. It bring's up some great memories of the days, when I started the journey many years ago. I also really loved your narration. All the details, but short and sweet. If I may add some additional info: There's a so called dynamic respawn system, which regulates how quick mobs respawn. The more players are close by killing the same mobs, the quicker the mob respawn will be. If you press V you can activate nameplates. That might help you with recognizing the mobs around you earlier/better. Since you asked - Frost is the usual go to in Classic for Mages. The slow effects and defensive skills that become available on higher levels are a great help survival-wise. You can unlearn your talents at any mage trainer but it's quite expensive and the costs are rising significantly with any next unlearning. (10 silver, 1 gold, 5 gold, 10 gold etc.). Even if you've spent your first point in Arcane - you luckily chose a talent that you would skill anyway at some point. So no need in spending money to change that. There are talent calculators on the internet to try around with talenttrees. You said you are interested in crafting. The game already told you, you will be able to learn two professions. Since the profession trainers are divided all around Stormwind just ask any guard to find out which professions are available and the position of the trainers. Fishing, Cooking and First Aid, can be learned additionally to the 2 professions the ingame-help already mentioned. Even if you don't plan on leveling Fishing and Cooking, it's still useful to at least learn both, since some quests which are related to them only become availble, if you've learned the professions.
