My grandma passed away just over a decade ago, and my parents have had a lot of her stuff just sitting around for most of that time. Money was always really tight for her and it was her dream to go live in the mountains of Colorado, which was a bit of a far cry from Eastern Missouri. I was just recently given her old Canon AE-1 Program, and very quickly fell in love with film. She only got to visit Colorado a few times, and I know this camera would have been by her side at all times. Given these would have cost a decent amount in the '80s, it was probably one of her more expensive possessions and she certainly would have cared a lot about it. So I'm having it professionally restored and I'm planning on taking it with me pretty much anywhere I go, to help keep her wanderlust spirit going

Speaking of wide angle lenses have you ever used a 75mm Geortz Hyperion on 8x10? It's not too sharp but it's like 140 degrees coverage which I love. It's a WWI vintage but mine is in mint shape.

By opening your aperture one stop, you will not loose much depth of field, and you exposure can be shorter to get more detail in the water, even with reciprocity failure. Thought I mention this. Great work, keep up the good work.

I wonder why you white balance the scan in Lightroom when Negative Lab Pro explicitly states, as shown in the video, to *not* do it?

I shot a 1978 slr for 25 years and after the first time I had the no advance happen, I got in the habit of looking at the rewind arm every time I advanced the film. Never had a problem again. You don't need to look at the advance lever, look at the rewind crank.

Have you ever had an issue with the U/S lever on this lens? Just purchased mine and when I try to change from U to S, it springs right back to U. Wondering if this is user error or something you've experienced with your camera?

Great stuff. I’m thinking the next step for Harman will be to use a more conventional colour film base. Makes sense to use XP2 as the initial base to get the project off the ground.

Great shots! Am I the only one who thinks this shows hints of Ferrania Solaris? Whatever they do to change and improve this film, I just hope they aim to keep these reds.

In the footsteps of what Adox did for Color Mission, it makes total sense. We need some competition in the color film space to keep things healthy. Why trashing experimental batches when Lomography made a business out of it 😆 Additional points for Savannah, one of the cutest cities in the US. I recommend Jonathan Stalcup book on Savannah Architecture Guide.

*Some details left out in this video:* *Price:* MSRP $12.99 GBP (inc VAT) - $13.99 USD (exc. tax) - $15.49 EU (inc VAT). *Medium Format:* Currently for launch it is 35mm but they are evaluating it for other formats like 120. *Variable ISO Speed:* While the box is ISO 200 in the tech guide the film can be rated from ISO 100 to 400 without push/pull processing. Your film may have some purple speckling as this experimental film did have some coating anomalies. Remember this is an experimental film!

I highly recommend removing the remjet layer with baking soda & water before developing. You can then wipe the excess off with a soft sponge. There is no effect on the developing & Blix at all when doing it that way.

There is no chemical reaction, so nothing is consumed by soaking your ECN-2 film in this soda bath. Store it to keep clean, and pour it through a coffee filter after several uses to remove the rem-jet material which comes off in it. A better chemical solution to use for rem-jet removal: Per liter of water, 100 gr of sodium sulfite, 10 gr of borax, and 1 gr of sodium hydroxide (lye). Use at 80 - 85F, agitating vigorously for 10 - 20 seconds, then water flush until clear.

I recently developed a roll of Kodachrome. I soaked it in baking soda, rinsed, and did my normal b&w process. I took the film out of the tank, and I could see my images on there. I hung it to dry. I came back and there were no images. A couple of days later, I thought, “maybe I didn’t get all of the remjet off of it. I rinsed it again. Pulled it out. There were images. It dried and there were no images again.
