These shots are amazing, great shooting mate. In Australia we have MFS Vison 3, which is the same, as its Kodak cine film. I've been using cinestill c-41 to develop but I need to buy the ecn-2 chemicals, just out of stock for now. With the remjet, I use baking soda at the same temperature as the developing temp. I shake for 3 minutes and change it a few times during. Then wash it a few times with new clean water. Thanks for the great vid

Hello! What is the formulation of baking soda and water you use for pre-bath? Ratio of water to baking soda....? Thank you in advance, CC

Thanks for this video! I was intimidated to start developing my Vision 3 250D without seeing someone else handle removing the remjet layer first! Now I can’t wait to tackle mine.

How did it go? Do you still remove remjet AFTER fully developing, or do you do the pre-bath before? If you do the pre-bath...can you share how/what you use to formulate it and how long you do it? Thank you in advance, CC

Dope! One note: even though the kit instructions don’t mention this, you should rinse your film in between the Dev and Blix phase so no residual dev chem mixes in with the Blix and exhausts it faster. I do this with all Color & BW dev chems. Happy processing! ❤️
@StudioC41
@StudioC41 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Generally, I'm pouring blix afterward to chemically neutralize the development step. By rinsing, you're diluting the residual developer which is still technically developing your film. Unless you have a stop bath, I'm more concerned about the film than the longevity of the blix. The blix just takes a little bit longer (not much) as you get further into the number of batches you do.

The BLEACH&FIX+STOP is intended to stop development. The small amount developer that is in the emulsion and tank will not significantly impact the bleaching or fixing. The Cn2 “developer” will exhaust much faster than the Bf2 “blix”. This is not dissimilar to stander C-41 processing that incorporates a stop bath into the bleach step. The carryover of developer is accounted for in the formulation.

This is such a great video thank you. I'm going to give it a go with Super 8mm Vision 3. And that lens you use for scanning, the 90mm macro, is amazing. I use that same lens to scan Lomokino films. Thank you!

I wonder why you white balance the scan in Lightroom when Negative Lab Pro explicitly states, as shown in the video, to *not* do it?

Can't we remove RemJet before? using Washing Soda water as pre-bath and then removing remjet?
@StudioC41
@StudioC41 2 жыл бұрын
Yep! I did a follow up video to that. 1 tablespoon baking soda to 1L warm water. Agitate for 2mins, rinse until clear.

Do you or anyone else have links to websites of videos with the best, most reliable way to do a pre-bath to remove remjet prior to starting development? I'm about to jump headlong into bulk loading Vision3 500T....watching all I can, but just wondering if anyone has a tried and true remjet removal pre-bath formula. Thank you in advance, CC

@@MrManelCasanova correct. the Blix neutralizes any remaining developer and the cs2 and cn2 use the same Blix kit.

I highly recommend removing the remjet layer with baking soda & water before developing. You can then wipe the excess off with a soft sponge. There is no effect on the developing & Blix at all when doing it that way.

The Kodak prebath with borax, lye, and sodium sulfate works best and is easy as hell to make.

When developing with Cs2, do you still do a final bath in stabilizer as you would with c41? Or is there no need?
@StudioC41
@StudioC41 3 жыл бұрын
It’s not necessary. Stabilizer now is more of an anti-microbial/anti-fungal solution. Unless you’re living in a extremely humid environment and not storing your film, you don’t need it.

Remjet removal is more mechanical than it is chemical. No chemical will fully remove remjet, but it will soften it just as our Cs2 developer does.
