Love your videos on stairs, very informative esp on when spacing the spindles but would love to know where the figure 121 comes from ?when doing landing spindles Cheers again....
@Georgequinnstairpartsplus
@Georgequinnstairpartsplus 5 жыл бұрын
Hi, in the video Damien uses 41mm spindles and the calculations are derived from the 100mm spacing + 21 (which is the centre of the spindle being used).

Hi Mr Ward, many thanks for your enquiry - in part 3 of our refurb video we used the white oak cladding steps and risers. Please follow the link should you require more information on this range: georgequinn.co.uk/product-category/stair-parts/stair-cladding-design/

One word of advice. At some point, the carpet will be replaced so if it was me fitting the top riser I would not use adhesive, just a few odd pins to fix for easy removal come later down the line
@Georgequinnstairpartsplus
@Georgequinnstairpartsplus 6 жыл бұрын
Many thanks for your input and agree its good to future proof changes down the line. Damien would be a stickler for safety and used the adhesive because of the position of the riser and wanted to ensure it didn't become a trip hazard.

Very helpful, thank you. Although quite how I've got to this point from my missus asking ' can you get rid of the artex on the hall ceiling?' is a mystery that only she ( who must be obeyed)can answer!

Great videos! Big help in installing my own stairs. Are the nails in the slips necessary as it spoils the end result? I'm guessing you're using them to hold them in place whilst the glue dries?

daft question but... my newel post starts at the 3rd step.... how would i go about installing a new newel post at like the first step. is that a big job?
@Georgequinnstairpartsplus
@Georgequinnstairpartsplus 7 жыл бұрын
Hi there, yes it could be a big job as you will be altering the structure of your stairs - best advise would be to get in a local professional if you intend changing the structure.

Hi Keith, you have 2 options here, you could replace the newel base to match the oak newel post or perhaps clad the base with oak sheeting.

Hoedown (Aaron Copland original, not Emerson, Lake and Palmer's amazing cover) - fabulous. Rhapsody in Blue (Gershwin) - marvellous, my first "classical" love. In the Mood (Miller) - superb. And so great to hear while watching a terrific video series. You unravelled the mystery of staircases really well! Thanks Damien.

I think Damien does a good job demonstrating installation product, the background music and annotation sounds are distractingly loud and not really required as you need to focus on the Damien’s installation! Are packers supplied?

+Nocopj thank you for your feedback. It is much appreciated and we'll take it into account when we'll create the next videos. In regards to your question, packers are not included, but if you tell us your requirements, we'll do our best to help. If you don't find what you need on georgequinn.co.uk/, give us a call at: 0800 0850 479.
