Where all 3 placed in a similar position with some dirt as a kind of backstop??? I found it interesting the way the billow of smoke happened...the first(guess you could call it the control)explosion did what i expected...the 2nd one though, the billow of smoke looked to happen twice as quick as the first one...i was assuming the third billow of smoke was going to be twice as quick as the second...no, not at all...at the very first of it, a small tower of smoke, but the majority of it mushroomed at the bottom moving towards you...

When #8 doesn’t have the distance to spread out (like in a house), it’s mass has a LOT of energy. Short of body armor maybe, I’d use small birdshot for home defense no problem.

You expect major damage from bu k and slugs but bird shot is frickin mean too.

I recently read and watched No Country for Old Men. In particular in the film adaptation, Moss shoots at Chigurh using a 12 gauge shotgun with 00 buckshot through a hotel room door. The distance can't be more than 10 feet. How Moss doesn't just totally blow him away makes no sense.

Could you make the exact same video, but of a "medium solid" wood door, like the kind most of us have? Not a super heavy one, but just a standard wood door.

They say most criminals aren't very smart, but a burglar with brains is going to wear heavy clothing or even body armor while doing his "work". In that case bird might not be the best option...you always want to consider that the creep you're shooting at is/may be also armed and you need to stop them cold. The old saying "You can't miss with a shotgun" is bullshit...you need to aim. Slugs are good for blasting thru a fence, a door or a vehicle but there's a hell of a kick...00 is the most "recommended" round but if you want to get the same results with a bit less kick look for #4 buckshot (not bird)...if the first shot doesn't take 'em out, advance and fire on the target repeatedly. If you want to really seal the deal make the last round a slug at close range. That's how my home defense shotgun is loaded. Sounds gnarly but if a stranger is in your house you MUST assume they will hurt/kill you if necessary. Like a bear coming into your cave.
