I love the stitched swaddles but I also love the way you made an applique of the name using fabric. Oh my gosh this was so helpful. I’m so glad I found this. One silly question I have is, with the blocks with the pinked sides, where does the 1/4” seam begin? I had the seams be off a bit because I had two different sizes with blocks that had the straight cut sides and the others with the pinked. Ugh I know it was hard to make the same size. 😮 sorry for being so off.
@southernsewingco
@southernsewingco 2 ай бұрын
This is a great question! I’m sorry I didn’t address this in the video! This can be a little tricky but the best way to figure this out is to go off your cut fabric (since we are confident that it is an accurate 5”), line that up perfectly in the middle of your charm pack square and then use the cut fabric to follow along your 1/4” seam allowance. I really should have mentioned this in the video! I may do another video about this soon!

Hi, Ashley. Thank you for the videos. I am new to quilting and just found your channel. Question: What kind of presser foot pressure adjustments do you have to make with the free motion, walking, and regular sewing feet? Thanks!
@southernsewingco
@southernsewingco 2 ай бұрын
Welcome!! I'm so glad you found me! To be honest, I rarely mess with the presser foot pressure. The only time I've messed with it was when using a walking foot when I noticed that my machine was moving around kind of squirrely (if that makes sense lol). In this case, I adjusted it a little more so it held my quilt together a little better and didn't let it bounce around so much! For FMQ, I've never seen this as an issue though. I hope this helps!
