Personally I think the word: emptiness creates unnecessary confusion. In the heart sutra it means that objects have no independent existence but are the temporary aggregates of relational dependencies. The word Empty however in English means there is nothing at all, but that is not what is meant here.

Why is this teaching called “the heart Sutra “ ?
@WisdomTellers
@WisdomTellers 6 күн бұрын
Great question! I believe The "Heart Sutra" is named so because it represents the "heart" or essence of the Prajñāpāramitā (Perfection of Wisdom) teachings. This concise sutra captures the core of the Mahayana Buddhist view on emptiness, cutting through to the very essence of reality without unnecessary elaboration. It's like a distillation of profound wisdom in its most direct and potent form, hence it's called the "Heart" Sutra. I would love to hear others' thoughts on why this teaching is called the "Heart Sutra." Feel free to share your interpretations in the comments! Thank you for your curiosity, and may your journey through these teachings be insightful and fulfilling 🙏

Superb, informative video!!! 👏 But um, it isn't Maha-yaana, it is Mahaa-yaana...:) Mahaa=Great. And it is Prajna-paramitha, and not Prajna-parameeta. Mahayana means "the greater vehicle." Anyhow, they brought back the Goddess, a concept which the Buddha scorned! :) Buy hey, I just love the concept of the "Heart of the wisdom of the Goddess!" :) It is clear as daylight that "Buddhism" has EVOLVED continually since its inception, and the original, once downgraded as "Hinayana" or the "lesser (not so great) path," fought back and renamed itself Theraväda, or "The way of the elders." For the Tibetans, Mahayana wasn't good enough, so they invented Vajrayana (vajra=diamond) or the Diamond Path. Next thing, there will be a "Platinum Path" 😆

Thank you so much for your kind words and the detailed insights! 😊 and I really appreciate your correction with the pronunciation - pronunciation matters, especially with these profound terms. Your reflections on the evolution of Buddhism are spot on, and I love how you’ve highlighted the dynamic nature of these traditions. The idea of a "Platinum Path" gave me a good chuckle! 😄 It's a reminder that Buddhism, like all spiritual paths, continues to adapt and evolve to meet the needs of those on the journey. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

@@WisdomTellers oh my pleasure! 20 years ago I published a book on religion titled "A way beyond religion - To our Inner Spirit." I've pulled it out of circulation as I do a complete rewrite. In it I protest the teaching that life is Dùkkha, wrongly translated as suffering. The word means grief or sadness. And I reject the concept of samsara, and endless not-so-merry go-round of birth and death. Our inherent nature is that of joy/bliss but overshadowed by our ego mind. We reincarnate because we want to. I wrote "Reincarnation is real. The reason souls reincarnate is because there isn't any chocolate, wine or sex in the Spirit world!" 😆

That's an interesting way to look at the Heart Sutra! The interaction between Shariputra and Avalokiteśvara in the Heart Sutra certainly feels like a conversation that bridges different perspectives, even different realms of understanding. It's amazing how these dialogues can resonate so deeply, allowing us to glimpse a greater reality beyond our everyday experiences. Thank you for sharing this unique interpretation! @@zlatomirravic3780 No, Arya Avalokiteshvara is a right hand Bodhisatva from Lord Buddha Amitabha’s Pure Land called Sukhavati. The left hand Bodhisat is Mahastamprapt. Arya Avalokiteshvara can manifest as Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma and various other dieties to help people. Shiva resides at Kailash whereas Arya Avalokiteshvara resides at Mt Potala. Shiva is a Buddhist god as are all dieties, only Buddhist Monastaries are at Kailash.

Many years ago as a 4 year old I found that if I head butted a brick wall for long enough, I would pass through the pain and enter into extreme bliss. A Masters voice spoke to me telepathically while meditating in 2018. He asked me to look up Maitreya, so i did and found similarities with the prophecy and myself. For example, I moved to 7 countries after birth, where there was war or civil unrest afrer i left. I was also born with 32 moles on my body. I even have the webbed toes. Pretty wild. The telepathic voice also said to "Pray, meditate, eat good food, drink good water, wake up early, work your body, wash your clothes by hand. Stay humble, calm and focused. Stay kind. Write, speak, sing with your heart. You will do great things for your people, make it right."

Samantha has characteristics of Jhanas while Vipassana is way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body. Vipassana can be more effectively practiced when one has reached 1st Jhana or Pre-1st Jhana. Jhana involves transformation of 5 elements in your body, nadis and pranas, when tranquilities have been reached then vipassana can be practiced in more profound way and fast

With all the differences let’s find some common ground , all these peoples claming diffrent heritage but 😂😊 you are all born with the mark of the ancient Monpas , later also called the mongol mark , the blue birthmark all is you are born with and later dissolves , mongols being one of the inheritors,from the Tibetan plataue where my kaliash also called mt meru but originally called kora koram now the whole mt range is called the korakorrum range, believed to be the center of the world with its peak somewhat allined to the four direction of the compass and from wher the four great rivers of Asian begins also has a salt lake and sweet water lake , The Tibetan platue was once just called ling/ Mon and the monpas the most ancient of the Asian dna comes from, so they say !!! Rest from Tibetans Chinese Koreans viets , all Asians looking ppl all the way to the people of South America are just their off spring. With the same dna markers and same blue mark on their backside 😂😊 And the ancient symbol also used by the mongol empire , the most ancient symbol on the left Basically the Sun and moon with the three pointed flame and also diving falcon and also the trident 🔱 which is also a weapon but also symbolises the past present and future but unlike the Mongolian flag there is a six sided star or two diffrent triangles that makes up the star. The three points that make up tue first triangle signifies , father mother and child ( the base for family and by extension to base of society and the second triangle signifies knowledge will and action and the dot in the middle signifies the individual who is the center / beginning who has trained in knowledge and has the will to take action leading his society and civilisation forward And the individual practices to better himself by gaining knowledge does physical exercise to reach his/ her physical optimum And sits in meditation to better understand his / her knowledge and physical form and mediate into the beyond and the fourth which balances out the individual is to do service for his neighbours , while conducting his own private life be it in business ets but to keep in mind charity and extending help to the less fortunate So basically an individual who exercise , reads and does mediation and is also a helpful neighbour Who will one day marry and create a family based on knowledge will and action and the sun and moon signifies living in harmony with nature . So find your inner superman my mediating , studying and exercising and be a good neighbour ❤❤❤

The Original Buddha Doctrine is different from these " Hindu/Jain" derived concepts, that are being spread all over the world, by people who have not entered the Path. That is why the Buddha reiterated that one should teach only after entering the Path. There is no Maithriya Bodhisatwa nor a Maithriya that is to come down from anywhere, except in the Hindu/Jain hallucinations, now being foisted into the naive people who have been following the Buddha Doctrine. The Path has to be seen through one’s fathom long body. DUKA is suffering, DHUKKA is the sequence of events that constitute a thought, cessation of which opens the door to the Path. The Doctrine was about opening the door to the Path and seeking the contentment and Happiness of Nibbana. This is Cheto VIMUKTHI. Many authors have it wrong. The Buddha spoke of ANATTA, which is basic in His Doctrine. It means NO SOUL. No me. No I. Which means there is NO person, except the senses - from smell. Sight. Hearing. Taste. Touch, Mind and memory. In the Dev DAHA Sutta, He Categorically states " If anyone says that, what one endures is a consequence of previous actions " that NOT the Buddha Doctrine, but is Niganta (Hindu) doctrine. VERY CLEAR. -The Buddha- Bhawa means one thought. PUNAR Bhawa means the next new thought. Therefore it is the thought that follows one after the other. Therefore it is obvious that there is no me/l/ person to be reborn. “ Bhawa niridho nibbanam “ means eradication of the thought process, is the key to enter the Path to nibbana. The thoughts follow in a sequence and there is no KAMMA as described by the Hindu/ Jain faith, where there is reward on one hand and punishment or damnation on the other, as is the case in Christianity. This concept of damnation is questionable and will last with intellectual dialogue. The Original Buddha Doctrine, before it was mixed with the Hindu faith, is Supra-mundane and Supra-cortical. Even the concept of Anicca and Anatta is at the level of Quantum mechanics and sub-atomic particles. When a body or any object is dissected to the last of the material form, it is correctly called Dhamma after which it is a non-material aspect and no form called “ information “. On the contrary, Buddha’s Teachings are correctly called “ Buddha Doctrine “ or Buddha wachanaya or the Buddha’s Teaching. One has to stop the process of Bhawa and Punar Bhawa to enter the Path through Pragna and subsequently reach the stage of Dhamma. Thereafter one sees Buddha and Nibbana. Difficult to fathom, but it is a process believed to follow as steps automatically, after stopping the thought process, through relentless effort. The Buddha spent 6 long years doing meditation and found it to be futile, where he collapsed many times due to starvation and extreme emaciation. He realized that nutrition was important for all mental and physical activities. Thereafter he left the 5 colleagues and did the reverse of meditation, which was not concentrating or being mindful of any thoughts. He left the world of being in the mind and entered the Path. That must be obvious to any intelligent person, as the incessant7 mental activity is the enemy to the Path of Nibbana. Not these mundane false concepts such as rebirth of the person. Do your research and enter the Path, through " Cheto VIMUKTHI" which one could follow, listening to Dr. Gamini Abhaya MD. FRCP Consultant Physician/Cardiologist with NO fee, through Denageneemen Nivanata via the Internet. Until one enters the Path to Nibbana, by entering the first stage ( Sowahn) it is incorrect to teach or preach, which is like BLIND LEADING THE BLIND. About time people used their own intellect without believing hearsay. ------------
