This is an amazing story how a real enlightened person behaves, and about the flexible nature of true spirituality, that holds on to nothing, and is open. A good ideal for me to aim for.

Would be nice if all of us had grown up with this kind of instruction - the world would be a better place 🙏🏻😇👍🏻

I'm wondering where you heard this version of the story. Most of it is the story I tell people and then of that most of it is in one of the teachings of Buddha. Mixed an additional teaching in where it doesn't really fit. I'm thinking somebody told you what I told them but they messed it up. I'd like to tell you the story the way I've been sharing it that makes it make more sense.

Hello, Thank you very much for your comment. We are aware of two different versions of the story. In the first one, the story doesn’t really describe the man, and Ananda reacts and speaks. In the second version, the story revolves more around the man, and none of Buddha’s disciples says anything; they all remain calm and quiet. We decided to pick the first version, as Buddha gives teachings for both the man and his disciples, rather than only focusing on the man. We thought that was important, as it shows that even Buddha’s disciples, who have been practicing for years, reacted with an unpeaceful mind. We're hoping to create the other version of the story soon. We would really appreciate it if you would like to send us the version of the story you mentioned and the source from which you got it, as we could use it for our video. You can send your version of the story to: tellersofwisdom@gmail.com
