I struggle with the second type of zipper (the silver one). It's reassuring to see someone else struggle as much as I do. What I notice sometimes is it will go easier from top than from the bottom and vice versa, so I will try the other end if its not going. Something else I'll do is I will start with extra long piece of zipper so that I can just make fresh cuts if the zipper isn't going on well. I notice sometimes the teeth get warped when you keep struggling. So I will just make a fresh cut edge and start again. It still takes about as long as you are doing it. These chunky blingy zippers are so worth it though.

Thank you for your tutorial! I have a jacket with a single pull open zipper- and I really want to add a second pull so that the jacket may also be opened bottom to top to add a flair for when I sit down. In this case, both pull will have their back to each other. Is this conversion possible? I haven't been able to find a tutorial for it and would greatly appreciate the help.

Ty sooo much! I make washable quilted Bags, but someone on Amazon said that these will melt in the dryer. Can you wash and dry a Magnet and let me know if you think drying is doable or not?
@lisaratford3089 Жыл бұрын
Hi there, thanks for your comment and question. To be honest, I'm not sure how the invisible snaps will fare in the dryer as I have never tested that. My recommendation would be to make a test bag using scrap fabric and wash and dry it as you would a normal quilted bag. That way you will be able to see what happens and whether they hold up (or not). Hope that helps and please let me know how you get on! :)

If your strips are 1.5 inch wide, what size is the cording? Loved this tutorial! Thank you!
@AndrieDesigns Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question but unfortunately I can't answer that as it depends on what seam allowance you are using and how tight you want the cording to sit within the fabric.

I have normally just been making quilts for about 16 years, but I made a little bag for my granddaughter, and although I found it difficult, it was fun! (I learnt how from a tutorial on KZbin). So now I am making a bigger bag as part of a friend's birthday gift. Once I saw the fabric, I just knew I had to make it for her!! I am just at the stage of wanting to put in an inside pocket, and I have watched LOTS of KZbin Tutorials, but I really must compliment you, because your way of putting in the zip and the pocket is extremely NEAT and TIDY!! I am a perfectionist, which is difficult sometimes....& causes me to do a LOT of unpicking!! I just LOVE the way you have shown how to do this, and I am going to follow your directions. Thankyou SO MUCH for taking the time to film and edit this Tutorial. It is really, really GREAT!! I have subscribed, and I will be looking at more of your Tutorials now. Well done friend, across in New Zealand!! Love from Sue in South Australia xx

After all the coats, is it harder for a home sewing machine to sew it?
@AndrieDesigns Жыл бұрын
Nope not at all! Just make sure to use a walking foot (or stick felt or something similar to the bottom of your regular foot) so the foot doesn't stick to the fabric. Have fun!
