I have been sewing for many years and tonight I learnt a few new tips that will help me in the future. Thank you.

At 24:50 (folding in the sides after front/back have been folded in over end of zipper) a stiletto can help with getting these folded side-edges/points even with the front/back folds

Wouldn't it be easier to add tab before zipper installation ? Kind of awkward to navigate with pouch.
@AndrieDesigns2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cynthia, yes it is a little bit fiddly adding the tab at the end, but we find it's even more fiddly to attached a shortened, finished zipper to a pouch during construction. We recommend keeping the zipper full length and trimming/attaching during construction however, if you prefer a different method then that's all good too. Whatever works!

Great tutorial! I have never seen a guest pen like the one you used. Can you tell me who makes it?
@theresahalbert40445 жыл бұрын
Oops...glue...not guest. Stupid autocorrect.

Thanks Theresa! The glue pen I use is by Sewline and is simply called a 'Sewline Glue Pen'. I use it constantly and find it to be a game-changer when it comes to making bags! Plus, you can buy the glue refills so you don't have to buy a new pen itself each time, which is convenient as well. Hope that helps! :)

Andrei Designs....Thanks! I make bags too and I think will work for a number of things.

Fantastic tutorial, thank you! Please could you tell me what sort of glue pen you are using? It’s so neat. (I have recently had a horrible experience with a roll of double sided tape - it must have been an old one and totally gummed up my needle! I could not understand what was wrong with my machine until I spotted the nasty mess all over my needle! 😂)

I’ve just watched your tutorial on a recessed zipper panel and you’ve answered my question about the glue pen. 😀
@AndrieDesigns5 жыл бұрын
@@trishaquinn7176 wonderful! And sorry to hear about your needle getting all gummed up!! That's the worst, especially if the needle itself isn't blunt enough to throw out yet! :( I find I use the glue pen probably 80% of the time now, but do find it easier to use wash away tape for things link zipper installations on pockets etc. :)

It looks like a Sewline blue pen

What is that height compensating tool you used?
@AndrieDesigns5 жыл бұрын
Hi Kris! It's something that comes with Bernina machines but can also be bought online or perhaps even from your local quilting store. They are also known as 'hump jumpers', and come if a couple of different designs (but all perform essentially the same task).
