I life in Salt Lake. We are roughly 4700 ft above sea level at my place. Clay soil that has had a lot of mulch added to the area I want to plant this grass. It is an area that I have been fighting for 30 years to keep the weeds down. Lot's of morning glory, and some field grass when our area was farmed. Can you recommend a variety for my area. I plan on putting some seed down just prior to freezing and letting the snow and wet warm spring/summer germinate the seeds. I've used this method for all of my lawn area. I appreciate your input. Thanks

I’d recommend Sundancer if you can find it. Should do great there.

@@theyardfreako do you think my method of planting the seed would work?
@theyardfreako2 ай бұрын
Eh… I’m not sure. I’d say go for it, and you have the potential for early germination next spring. What I’m worried about is precipitation, rodents, etc taking enough away over winter you won’t have even coverage. If you spread more next spring and make sure they germinate via watering I think you’ll be fine.
@rinkevichjm2 ай бұрын
You might want to plant some in small jiffy pots over winter and transplant in early spring.

I wish I had watched this before I planted sundancer, my area gets about 20 inches per year, I watered too much, when It started to look bad I watered more...that is one difference between bermuda nd buffalo...bermuda will take ALL the water and get stronger...buffalo will just die..,eventually the bermuda took over and all of my sundancer died....I am trying again..Now I know!!! Thanks.

I never ever cook anything on a charcoal grill by a SET time if you do you will just ruin good meat. Peeking at your steaks is better than burning them.

@2:59 Drop the Drop-Spreader! I did. Last one wire out new Scotts® one I purchased last year never closed its door tightly spilling up to 33% of product in sidewalk when 180° turning. Is watering-in absolutely necessary? The tap water I use has tested at 8.2 pH; It kills me to irrigate because I fight-fight-fight-annually to get below 7.9 pH.

I see st Louis is outside of the range for Buffalo grass. Do you have any recommendations for low to no maintenance ground covers for lawns? Micro Clover or regular Clover seems to be a good choice, but I'd be interested in hearing from someone who clearly knows a hell of a lot more about this stuff than I do. Whatever I choose needs to be safe for dogs, cause my dogs definitely love grazing!
