Oh, I still moose hunt, proud to be Metis and can now hunt from my house if I want. Fortunate to live on an inland lake rurally and my garden is my back yard.

Fauk……I miss this shit. I’m older and do the hunting camp thing. But there was a day in tents, grease solidified on sides of frying pan while cooking on a Coleman stove.

I need a hook for trolling a river on a boat the river has walleye and northern pike/jack fish in it but idk what hook to use I would prefer to use one that would work for both and can be dragged along by a boat along a river to catch them
@Renoman86Ай бұрын
Entering to watch, only complaint is to me its blatantly obvious you are not actually shooting the grouse when you shoot! You have already shot it and just acting for the camera!

Always wondered why these experts need 7 rods.?? Could always tell which boat was theirs as it looks like a Porcupine.

It’s fun to experiment with different gear on these trips. I’ve went into this subject matter in detail on many of my social media posts, including my “catch fish anywhere” set ups.

I started fishing a month ago, im just wondering if you JUST use the jig with the eye, or do you pur something else on it
@ree_master8172 ай бұрын
For spring put on a single or double tail mr. twister but other then that you can put on a soft plastic swim bate in the summer to fall transition
@EnderminBoi2 ай бұрын
@ree_master817 just wondering if the eye is thething that tricks them?
@aarongregory49802 ай бұрын
@@EnderminBoiIt’s more the action of the soft plastic you put on them that matters most. The shiny eyes can make a difference though sometimes, other times not at all. Fish can be finicky.

Another great shoot! Love the excellent shore lunch and grilling tips you provide. When in NW Ontario for a week, it is fun to try new walleye recipes in addition to the daily shore lunches. BCW is another trip I would love to go on, more so now that I have watched this presentation. Thanks again for the excellent work you guys do!

Nice video,Big Hook Wilderness Camps is an awesome place! 187 miles north at the end of the asphalt road. Walleye and pike fishing is awesome! The camps are ran by a great group of people that keeps generations coming back. Central Lake has been our main stay lake but I have heard that the 6 other outpost lakes are just as awesome as the rest! Looking forward to our next trip back. Our last trip was 2022 and my wife and I boated 780 walleye and Northern Pike for 6 days, we lost a day due to bad weather on fly out, finally got to camp late afternoon of the first day, the rest of the week was gorgeous!

Hate to be "that guy" but that big walleye is out of the water from the 18:15 minute to the 21minute mark, without edits, and still wasn't unhooked, measured, or pictured. That's risky, to say the least.

Great footage and content! I can remember reading about this lake and its surroundings in a 1981 (or so) article in Outdoor Life. At that time, I believe the camp/site was owned and operated by Ojibway Outfitters. I have spent a lot of time visiting and fishing those old-time outposts I read about years and years ago. I would love to take a trip here--you guys did a great job highlighting this Canadian jewel.
