Unique and Secluded Ontario Fishing Lodges!

During this episode, we visit three unique lodges located in Ontario's Sunset Country, Algoma Country and Northeastern Ontario.
Witch Bay Canadian Camp is located on a secluded bay on the giant one million acre Lake of the Woods. The seven-mile drive off the highway winds through beautiful Ontario terrain with their closest neighbor 12 miles away, a rarity for a drive-to lodge in this part of Ontario. Watson's Pine Portage Lodge. Kaby Lake covers 30,000 acres of beautiful Ontario wilderness. The name of the lake comes from the Oji-Cree indigenous language that translates to lake of many bays. The waters provide top-notch fly-in walleye fishing, as well northern pike, whitefish and perch. It is the largest lake in the Algoma District, with 147 islands and endless fishing. Pine Portage even offers hunting for moose, bear and birds.

The winding rivers and scenery around Crane's Lochaven Wilderness Lodge reminded me of the award-winning film, The Revenant. The French River has such a deep history. The Ojibway named it so, because of the many explorers from France, as it was a major trade route for both furs and logging. The French River flows from Lake Nipissing to the Georgian Bay of Lake Huron. Crane's is located just about in the middle of this amazing river system, just four and a half hours north of Toronto. The lodge is on a 4-square-mile island with six different whitewater rapids close by.

Love the video. I am rooting for Canada to open at some point this year for these suffering lodges. It's difficult for me to understand why fully vaccinated people aren't allowed in and out but, I don't get to make that decision. Either way, I look forward to visiting Canada with my boys in 2022!

Nice video, Im actually in the middle of planning a trip this summer to LOTW from Alberta (grew up fishing in the Kawartha region of Ontario). Word of warning to anyone not used to LOTW, know you channel markers and make sure your GPS has lake maps, its notorious for eating lower drive units and props... ask me how I know lol. I wouldn't mind asking for one bit of advice if I could. I need tips and tricks on how best to convince my wife that I DO need a new 75k boat?
