Yet you don't hear them mumping on about it decades later. Sheffield United got screwed twice and relegated, because of the Tevez situation and the failure of goal line technology, that let Villa off the hook. They complained initially, then let it go and got themselves promoted back to the EPL. Swindon got screwed re points reduction and an unfair relegation back in 1990, yet in the same era, Spurs got away with a fine. Injustice happens to most clubs and they have the right to be upset and complain, but Sunderland have took it to the next level, with their constant crying of something that happened over 40 years ago.

Everton were the first English club to achieve five consecutive years in European competitions - covering the seasons from 1961-62 to 1966-67. All that said, Everton have won one major trophy in their last 36 years. History guarantees nothing for your future. Sunderland broke the rules in the 50s and rightly paid the price.
