Nile, Bernard inspired me more than you into liking Chic. I cannot comprehend how good his bass playing is. It is very like Ringo Starr and he doesn't show off. Maybe he shows off in little Phil's and so on, but he keeps the groove going and my God he's was described in the Sunday times as one of the three greats. I think the greatest is James Jameson and the other one was Paul McCartney. It's debatable. I think he recognized at least that. James Jamison was his favorite bassist
