Guild Wars 2 has a similar exchange where you can trade most items in the game, but the fact that it doesn't display history of past transactions has lead to the creation of several independent websites that scan the market every interval of time and store that information for further browsing, which is essential information if you want to do any serious amount of trading.

This was the best game I ever played, I played for 10 years, if the devs hadn't started gate & station camping in .5 systems with npc's that just screwed soloist, I would still be playing, as is I logged off with 6 months left on my sub & moved on, when a game isn't fun anymore, why play? you plan for months & years in this game, stage resourses, find travel paths threw dangerous space & you pay for all the game info you have, I don't trust the devs, they changed the rules & derailed me one too many times.

Why you can't afford? Says who? I bought several properties in the last 30+ years with no issue, until about the last 4 years. Our dear California Democrats Governor said landlord suppose to provide FREE housing and continue to pay all the bills. But he does not have a penny in that business? So I sold all my apartments and took my business outside of CA.

Lol on retirement savings. I'll post. I'm 62 this week. I worked in a low salary job for a long time BUT at least I have a bit of a pension. My 401k savings is just now at 450k and of course that can go down with the market. The next 3 years will be crucial for me. Without closer to a million in "the bank" I won't be able to stop working

China is nearing collapse in major part because of the massive loss in real estate loans and the effect on China's banks. Many of the empty houses are deteriorating. I think there is no equivalent to US Bankruptcy. World fertility rates are falling below replacement in many places, particularly in Asia.

27:00 that's military recruiting language... Corporations are using US military indoctrination techniques. Yes, yes indoctrination into a murder cult. Within your ranks it's socially permissible to joke about graphic violence. They have to build that system to keep all the gun barrels pointed in the same direction. It doesn't matter which way they point the guns, the leaders will always stand behind them when they shoot. Meaning, they'll ignore a racist if it means their unit officially doesn't have a problem with racism. The commanders have no incentive to report their own failures...

All of that makes perfect sense of course, but maybe... - ESG investing is obviously badly implemented in many ways, but at 16:39 you forgot to mention that the study DID say low sustainability funds had more outflow, and even though they didn't outperform it also didn't say they underperformed. Regardless of how crappy they are and and how they're likely not to put any dent in any global issues, if you have the choice and they aren't underperforming, might as well pick a "sustainable" one... all it takes is one big catastrophe followed by some rushed new regulation for companies "not pretending to be sustainable enough" to take a bigger hit, so eh... maybe it's not such a bad idea for investors to change their strategies a bit. - DEI teams and whatever are obviously bollocks, you've explained all the reasons why. But do we have to throw the baby away with the bathwater? I see people crying all over blaming DEI for every thing that happens, while at the same time recognizing that they don't do anything. It's ludicrous. Ignoring all that idiocy, hey, instead of "hiring teams and advisors" just take a fucking look around, see how are you dealing with issues, maybe make some healthy changes. The acronyms are lame, but the words in them are not.

That "Tiger at a birthday party" is an incredibly weak metaphor. If you find that your company is poisoning a river that people use to drink water, the company as a whole, the corporate board (90% of the burden right here), and the people doing the work all have a duty of care to *not* poison the river. Yes, if the company brings a tiger to the workplace, not ONLY does the company have an overwhelming burden to ensure safety, but they ought to have a heavy toll to pay if anything goes wrong. "Ohh, won't SOMEONE think of the SHAREHOLDERS?" yes, we've been exclusively catering to them since January 1981.
@edumazieri13 күн бұрын
I think the point the video was trying to make (using that metaphor) is that we should not rely on "self-regulation", that just distracts us from implementing ACTUAL regulation. It's a valid argument, regardless of any "duty to care", in practice it has a better chance of working out with proper regulation.

Businesses caring about stakeholders is the right path. Just look at Boeing and Intel if you want examples of companies run by accountant CEOs looking for near term profitability. ESG is a different story and like any market place is only as good as the institutions and cultures that ensure the quality of goods traded.

I started in 2005 after coming back from an Iraq deployment. I’ve ran markets in deep 0.0, commanded a 500 person alliance that held low sec and 0.0. I’ve fought in massive battles still talked about today. I’ve made billions off of my few T2 BPOs I won in lottery. I’ve also lost nearly everything a few times and had to evacuate and abandon billions in assets. I’d do it all over again and though I don’t play as much as I used too,I’m proud to be coming up on my 20th anniversary.

In my opinion, a housing market crash is imminent due to the high number of individuals who purchased homes above the asking price despite the low interest rates. These buyers find themselves in precarious situations as housing prices decline, leaving them without any equity. If they become unable to afford their homes, foreclosure becomes a likely outcome. Even attempting to sell would not yield any profits. This scenario is expected to impact a significant number of people, particularly in light of the anticipated surge in layoffs and the rapid increase in the cost of living.

I suggest you offset your real estate and get into stocks, A recession as bad it can be, provides good buying opportunities in the markets if you’re careful and it can also create volatility giving great short time buy and sell opportunities too. I've been poor my entire adult life and don't care much beyond the basics, but when my son was born 2 decades ago (when I was 33) I wanted to be able to eventually 'leave him something' so looked into "Ethical Funds" and was appalled that it included a major Canadian mining company that had been under fire for hiring paramilitary groups to disappear labour/enviro activists in at least one of the developing countries they were operating in, and the Canadian gov't (which includes the military industrial complex). Big Nope. Then I heard that the small fair trade sugar & cocoa company in South America that my org distributed at our markets was seeking investors to invest a minimum of $5000 to help the company grow, which was perfect; unfortunately by the time I'd saved $5k to give them, they'd upped the minimum to $10k, and it wasn't long after that it all got eaten up in rent-increases. Total bummer. Great video to file along with greenwashing, whitewashing, and pinkwashing. I know a ton of old school progressive left-wingers who now boycott the companies that went all in on the "rainbow branding" bullshit (read: it's not just right-wingers turned off by it). Amazing that big corporations still think we are too stupid to recognize when we're being manipulated. Bernays would be proud.

If you want to leave them something, teach them skills in things that are timeless in the sectors of: currency, housing, and transportation. If children to adults can control those three things in their lives they cant be controlled except but unjust force, by beurocratic governments. So teach them how to invest in precious metals gold and silver since those have been currencies since egyption times, teach them sustainable alternative housebuilding like cob etc, and teach them how to repair vehicles ubiquitous transportation. Those skills gives them a leg up and drastically reduces risk in their lives as governments cant diminish their savings and purchase power, all they need is land to build a starter home, and the trade speaks for itself...
