Converting mine over to the SB fixed stock. I’ve had this gun for over 30 yrs. I’ve got 3-4 barrels. 2-3 other stocks. So I’m gonna buy another receiver and action kit and rebuild me another one. The 10-22 has got to be the most customizable gun I can think of. Great little base.

Bro, great video. Also having ejection issues with my spikes tactical bcg/receiver set. Just wanted to say you sound like Seth Rogan, lol. My kids are watching Kung Fu Panda while I am watching this vid and got your voice mixed up with the character Mantis. You could be a voice double for him fer real.
@caseyb1346

99% sure the coating is to prevent stiction while the case is under pressure. The extreme pressure causes the brass to flow into all the microscopic imperfections in your chamber walls. This makes a very solid lockup...which is a problem. Since straight blowbacks begin moving the second the bullet begins moving (albeit very little) you want the whole case to slide out of the chamber with the bolt. Otherwise just the case head moves with the bolt...which is bad. The coating flows into the microstructures instead of the brass. As the brass slides the coating shears and lets the brass move. Theoretically, a very well polished and lapped chamber would not need lacquer.

I don’t know what the coating is for but my gun doesn’t seem to care whether it’s there or not (Ruger 57). I pay zero attention to it. I have some cases that have been shot six times with no issues. The finish may be half gone or non existent. 5.7gn of accurate #5 and 40gn V-max all day long. Do not go over 5.7. 1/10gn is a big move on these. Trim length, shoulder set back and seating depth is what I find to be the biggest culprit for not going into battery.

@@Senator-Wary some suggest it also helps add a friction to prevent the round from extracting to soon but then others suggest it reduces friction. I do know that premature extraction (my mind just turned 12yo) is a danger in the 5.7 when reloading.

For ejection issues you have to "tune" the ejector pin it needs to touch (not drag) the bolt , and be square, as well as riding in the groove nice, and close. Most have to be bent up and left.
