Beautiful garden! Fellow 9a Louisiana gardener here. I believe you can harvest individual stalks of bok choy to encourage new leaf growth. Almost all of the brassicas look similar, so they are hard to differentiate one from another in the seedling stage. I forgot what order I planted my collards and cabbage in one of my beds, so I am waiting to see how they mature before I can tell what is what. You have some great ideas! Thank you for showing your pantry using wire shelves! You can add additional shelves to those. I bought an additional shelf unit for the 5 shelves and added them to 2 units i was already using. Beautiful canned goods!

I'm so very, very sorry for your loss and struggles. It's beyond hard to say goodbye. I have lost 4 older cats since January 19th. July 22, August 8th, September 13th of this year. Even though I knew that old age and cancer/kidney issues were in the mix, you're never are "ready" to say goodbye. Some of my crew were bonded and are still searching for their siblings. Thats very heartbreaking as they cry for them as we grieve. ❤❤❤I've also been a caregiver to Alzheimer's parents on top of my furkids. Sometimes, just talking about loss, both human and pets, helps soothe the heartache. Sending healing prayers to you. ❤

I usually make bundt cakes too. Most times I just dust with powdered sugar to save the hassle of icing them. I'm looking forward to more of your cakes!

A mama bunny put her nest in my garden this year and they nibbled my cantaloupe and watermelon vines. I couldn`t be mean to baby bunnies but when I mowed around the garden she came and moved them. Ha! She doesn`t bother my garden and is almost tame and likes Red Ripper Peas so I plant them around the area away from the garden and she`s happy.

I`m up here near Catahoula Lake. It actually rained today and it looks like we might get more. Grass was dead and some pines died here. My figs were dropping even though I was watering with the hose so I dug down in the mulch around the trees and the roots were bone dry. I planted 7 fig trees & 4 dwarf mulberry trees mostly this year except for one fig tree I started last year. Lots of pests this year. I`m having to cook my green Red Ripper Pea pods because they`re getting stung by those beetles that have infested the South and ruining 98% of the peas inside them. They wiped out my Purple Hulls and Crowders so I won`t grow those again. Ants are eating my ground cherries in their husks and worms keep infesting everything. I also have to put alarms all around the garden and stay up all night to fight off the armadillos or they`ll uproot the entire garden by the roots. I have no car so I have to grow all my fresh vegetables, fruits and berries and order basic supplies and canned fish so it`s a constant battle since I moved to this lot two years ago to figure out what works and what doesn`t.

Mothers come first.

I grew Pink Brandywine tomatoes for the 1st time, they stayed hard and green until suddenly starting to go off. I made jam and it's a lot like catsup! I cooked chicken thighs in it yesterday, they came out great! I used stevia to sweeten, and balsamic vinegar for tartness.

It can't hurt and can really help to rub magnesium brine (dissolved epsom salts) on her chest. If it helps, get her on a daily supplement. 🙏

I canned dried beans for the first time this month...garbanzo, pinto, and red beans. Right now I'm waiting on my backed beans to get done pressure canning. I did just a simple banana pepper pickled for misc peppers. It may just be my phone but I had to turn your video on max volume to hear you. You're doing great even if you miss a day. I have done 2 small things to make up for a day I missed and they are small....maybe getting my seed saving seed in jars or dehydrating some herbs....every bit counts!
