By the amount of ticks that market moves, if they sell below a bear bar but the market didn't move too many ticks below for they to make at least a size profit of an scalp they struggling to make money selling. So is better to only buy and forget the sells.

My take on it is this. You look for your entry signals, say a reversal signal near a support zone. You know from backtesting your entry signal over 1000s of trades, or experience, that 40% of times this setup has infact lead to a reversal in price direction. So far i mentioned nothing about r:r. Now, since you know that 40% of the time this will go in the direction you expect you need 2:1 r:r at least, to make up for the 60% of failures (this is the traders equation). So you look if the next level that price could move to is at least 2r away from market price with no major levels in between (where your stop is 1r). If that is the case, that is a trade you can take since it offers 2:1. I don't see any more maths in it than that. The 40%-60% number comes from backtesting, or intuition having viewed millions of chart setups.

Exactly what my experience had been. As your technical experience gains year by year, the lesser your emotional issues become. Your emotional distress is inversely proportional to your technical mastery. 💯🎯.

Beautiful content! However seems the original question is like: **Why would you evaluate the 1RR probability as 53%, if you see 40.3%:2RR there?** The later evaluation is based on “if FT is going to be good” for sure. But, if you make a bet on that premise of “good FT”, the probability to get 1R seems also should be good. 40.3%:2RR has expected value of 0.209. 2(40.3%) - 1(1-40.3%) = 0.209 If we use the same formula to derive probability for 1RR: 1(X) - 1(1-X) = 0.209 X = **60.45%** Why not just evaluate this as 60.45% and take it as a 1RR scalp, if you don’t like the 40.3%:2RR trade? Sounds like you are saying: the weak edge can be stronger based on FT (0.06 → 0.2). But after seeing the FT and say 2RR trade has become 40.3%, we cannot take a 2RR entry in the first place with edge, logic. And if you can take it (bet with the premise), why not the 1RR has **60.45%?**

@@Trendleader863 he’s a fake guru who has written 3 book each around 500 pages. He has an encyclopedia of chart patterns with over 8,000 slides and a course with 107 hours worth of info. Yes I’m sure someone fake could commit that much information to the public Eye where anyone can go and backtest his methodology yourself. I’m also sure that several of his students who operate hedge funds with his methodology are complete fakes as well.
