There is always a certain sadness to this majestic brilliance of LVB. Whenever I hear it performed by any other pianist, I sadly reflect “Why did you not take the time to learn from Claudio?”

Wow! Mestrisimo Claudio Arrau performing such a demanding concert - Beethoven's 5th - as he many times performed in his younger years. Not the same energy, slower in his performance but with the same passion.

Magnificent. Mr Arrau was indeed the best Beethoven interpreter ever.every time I have the privilege to listen his renditions I finish in other dimention.Perfection.

Acabo de escuchar la versión de Lang Lang y la de Arrau. Sin lugar a dudas, la Arrau llega al alma. Un discípulo del mismo Beethoven!

Modificaré una cita. "El talento es como una pulga, salta de persona en persona, pero no a todos pica". Sí, fue chileno (de mi tierra) el origen es una circunstancia, lo importante es que existen personas que pasan por esta vida dejando una huella indeleble. Afortunados aquellos que escucharon en vivo su música.

I saw him performing the Emperor over 40 years ago in Wichita, Kansas with the Wichita Symphony. By that time, his powers were in obvious decline. That saddened many of us, myself included. But in his middle age and early old age, he was a robust, gifted pianist. He is greatly missed.

Immer wieder ein Genuss, diesem Mann zuzuhören. Sein Zusammenspiel mit dem Orchester, die herrliche Komposition, es kommt einem immer wieder wie ein Wunder vor, wenn aus der Notenschrift solche Wiedergaben herausgearbeitet werden. Tiefe Verbeugung an alle Künstler. Vielen Dank!
