Yet another fantastic teardown…and precisely the reason I chose a solar-powered G (Rangeman GW-9400), happily bypassing the need for battery changes of just about any frequency. 😁

Whew…a *very* impressive teardown. It's sort of funny to me to regard some of the Rangemen's electronics as "simple", I'm old enough to remember when nearly all this stuff was bleeding-edge, and that was *before* it became miniaturized to the point of fitting on the wrist. Suffice to say that, given this perspective, I'm still more than a little awe-struck by G-Shocks in general, and this Rangeman in particular. (As far as the case size goes, I think of G-Shocks like this being the size they are for the same reason an A1 Abrams tank is the size and weight *it* is - it's possible they *could* make it smaller and lighter than it is, but then it wouldn't have quite the robustness it's renowned for.)

Pls don't buy battery watches from Casio once you open to replace the battery it loses its orignality, I had worst experience after changing the battery. After replacing the battery water gets into it. I have faced this with G-Shock GA 400, Mudman series and Edifice model also. Now I started buying 10 years battery life or Tough Solar watches to avoid this.

Hi friend, I have this same watch, only in black, but the buttons don't make any sound. Do you know why this is? The battery has been used for a while, I don't know if that's why I need to change it so that the buttons make sound again. Regards.

I have this exact model but grey and, man...still love it! It has something magnetic that catch my attention everytime. I mean, it's perfect, bulky but not gigantic, a mini tank basically and that dial, omg! Unfortunately my metal bar protection has no more the black paint, maybe i'll paint that again with a spray can and the bezel is not in a great shape (after 25 years i can't complain too much but, hey, you know). I'm trying to find a replacement bezel but seems is hard as hell. Anyway, great watch <3

MAMACOO's always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of watch 99% of people will never see.

I have the green one and the black EC GWGB100 .I wear the EC one everyday working on farm equipment…It sounds silly but you can’t tell by looking at it what kind of an environment that it’s in everyday.

I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the MAMACOO has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
