I am very glad that at my conversion to Jesus Christ i. e., shortly after, I discovered the sermons of Charles Spurgeon...others too...but after the Bible itself and reading that Book of Books very much, for me to have besides this gifted preacher's sermons and autobiography. I have read (& now may hear them read to me audibly) for nigh 60 years.

I was so thankful for this message from God tpday , it was exactly what i needed , thank Jesus and thank you Gavin Childresss .

Amen 🙏 very comforting message 💖 thank you!! I suffered the lack of assurance for the first 3 to 4 years after believing in the Gospel of my salvation. But now I am more assured that I am His and He is mine, now more than ever. And I still so love and long for more. Assurance that I am a child of God is very precious to my soul ❤️❤️❤️

Whatever my growth, my stand and/or knowledge given me, from the Holy Spirit, re my Lord Jesus the Christ, much came by this gifted man of God, C.H. Spurgeon...reading him, now hearing his sermons audibly for nigh 58 years, I still see & can hear something timeless of the grand old truths that the Word contains, and is. In the next century, following CHS' 19th century, and just 9 (nine) years after God took CHS to glory, another was born in 1899 in Wales...Martyn Lloyd-Jones, who stood out in 20th century as his brother he has now met that brother for eternity. Will there be a 21st century played out, with a preacher as these two were/are?

These Sermons are timeless,as fresh today as the day they were first given to Ch Spurgeon by the Holy Spirit and preached.

Listen to his description of today's condition of churches and teachers today (:30 to the end): This is a sermon I should have heard during the last few weeks - so relevant that it's almost difficult to think of how many years ago that it was written. This is today's conservative Christian perspective - considering the emergent church and universalism being on the advance, along with all other debauchery of scripture. He says "...a thin pamphlet of morality" - how accurate can one get? This speaks like a prophecy from the 1800's. Isiah, he says, "instead of being sawn asunder today [scripture] is quartered and hacked to pieces."

Our beloved Spurgeon. I am grateful I read his MTP sermons sdaile for decades. Blessed by the Lord were those he ordained to be at the Tabernacle in London.
