Such a lovely podcast! And a big 💘😻 to your cat Leila at 49:49 ! The last few days I watched your podcast episodes chronically one after one; beginning with Episode #9 - because of the lovely shades of green on your thumbnail with the range of your rainbow coloured yarn! <3 - BTW: Do you know any (whole or parts of) plants with ingredients that might create a green colour on natural fabrics or yarns (with partly still a lot of lanolin in it!) - or do I always have to combine a blue (like indigo) and a yellow one? - I'm just loving every green - so I really have to watch all of your other videos! 😍 I'm an absolute beginner in spinning and dying - but I already loved knitting in my younger days: My mother told me early how to knit - and nowadays I'm still wearing a pair of socks knitted from my grandmother! I am very thankful for this kind of sustainability and just wanna have more and more things knitted out of natural fabrics with such wonderful properties and colours! 🥰 Greetings from Wilich (Germany), Lotte

I learned to knit at school at age 6 - with steel needles & cotton yarn ! You can imagine how that went when you add sweaty little hands . So I hated knitting but my mother always knitted & I started again in my late teens & really got going once I had children. Now I knit all the time. The tablet weaving is very interesting.

This video randomly came up on my KZbin feed. I was quite surprised. I was a subscriber for maybe a year or two, then you were gone. I looked for you a few times, the last time maybe 6 months ago (?), I don’t know, but, I am so very happy to see you. I really enjoyed your podcasts. Your informative, and entertaining. (Plus my fav color is green as well)💕. Your tablet weaving is stunning!! I’ve never seen or heard of it before, and I’m looking forward to watching those videos, as well as catching up on your knitting videos since you’ve been back to KZbin. Yay!!

Anna, so lovely to see and hear from you again. Your cardigan is gorgeous-great colors. And I went on a great trip with Helene a few years ago, so the pattern and the Icelandic yarn brought back great memories. I really enjoyed your answers today and your more technical information in general! Thanks for sharing your knitting story, too. Your tablet weaving is beautiful; I have recently started some rigid heddle loom weaving, and have enjoyed it!

I love tablet weaving. I've also started covering my steeks with tablet woven bands, and it works best if the band is made with yarn that is much thinner than the yarn you used to knit the sweater. Otherwise, because tablet weaving is so thick, it can distort the sweater a bit, unless great care is taken when sewing them on (learnt that the hard way). It's great to have something to use the bands for. I have a box full of bands that I just made to learn or experiment, and I have no use for them. I've even started making tablet woven shoe laces from crochet cotton, just to have something to use the bands for (actually this is awesome. They stay tied longer than regular laces, and you can put colourful laces on boring shoes). I skip a step when warping, since I am warping on an inkle loom (similar to your setup, just with more pegs that you wind yarn around), I put the loom on its side, wind the yarn around the pegs, thread the card, then I cut it and tie the yarn to itself. I find this easier than first measuring out the warp, and then warping. As I weave, I move the warp around until I've gotten close to the place where I tied the yarn to itself.

Hi Anna. Yes, I recognised the sweater you were wearing; well to be honest I recognised the buttons 😊. You made me smile when you showed the cone with yarn for your hat. It would be fun to see the faces of the other travellers when you pull that cone out, but I do totally understand that it is to big to carry in the backpack 😂. What a great idea to make a ribbon/band for your beautiful sweater by tablet weaving! That technique is always appealing to me (I have a combined table/floorloom) , who knows, maybe one day. In the mean time I will be looking forward towards your video about it. Your bands are looking so beautiful! One question though, don't you think it will be to thick in combination with the steek? Although I 'know' you for a while, it was nice to hear you answering the Q & A. Thank you for sharing! Greetings Marjan
