I happened on the Epiphone Victoria goldtop at my LGS. Went in for a strat, but my son walked over with that goldtop and I just had to leave with it. It has turned out to be the best Les Paul I have ever played. It is much better than my Gibson Classic. The Classic sounds great, but I love that '57 neck on the Epiphone.

At 16:18 where do you get "epiphone branded aluminum tail piece" from ? None of the Epiphone factory tail piece are aluminum. Gibson in the other hand used light weight advanced plating that could be aluminum.

Nice review but that Gibson Appetite top is nice but the quality of flame is very low for figured wood. I would expect much better flame for a high end guitar.

I have 2 Gibson LPs, 2 Epi Lps (one Vermillion). I agree that in sound the Epis are in the ball park. For me I find my Epis more than pleasurable enough to play and perform with.

Mind-blower! thank you so much. I have try this on my (Behringer) MonoPoly.
@user-ob2nv8pp6f4 ай бұрын
I tried it on the Behringer Monopoly, and yes it works. The LED on the Frequency knob of MG1 will show 'continuous red' instead of the fast flicker, as above. (because the Behringer LED runs faster than the Korg). But if you set the knob in between the wave forms, and listen to the sound, you hear it switch from a Square or Saw wave to a steady single-pitched frequency.' I found what really makes a difference for getting all those 'weird' sounds is putting the Transpose in the 'Up' position; also using the Square wave on the LFO/MG1. You get all kinds of weird noises in the Transpose Up setting. It gives you-not necessarily higher notes-but the higher Frequencies, where FM lives.

Thanks for the video. Did people here actually try out to program these beats as explained in the video? If I do, I get completely different beats from the ones sounding in the video. You're missing some steps in your tutorial, and mix up terms like open and closed hi hats. A bit confusing...!

This one has ABR1 studs in the wood and Nashville bridge . Strange - never seen that before . I have three of these EBONY FB SG fadeds . One has ABR1 bridge studs in the wood and crescent moon inlays . The other two have Nashville bridges but with studs in incerts .

I got a used sensation and its beautiful and sounds great! I will say that my fretboard is gnarly, at the 12th fret it gets very messy looking and there even appears to be some holes filled in by a couple of the frets. For me these things are inconsequential but as an expensive investment its a lil dissapointing.

Would love to own a gibson but i am happy with my 2 slash epiphones, as a primarily 80s hard rock and metal fan my other guitars are dean, ltd, edwards with thin necks and as a smaller guy the slash epihones feel like holding tree trunks, not unplayable but i so much prefer the necks on my epihone Zack wylde bullseye.

Excellent walk through! Still to date now in 2024 I still consider myself dawless minus a few small synth apps on 4 separate tablets each having their own channel on a multi board. Step sequence will never be replaced in my method as those drum machines are still in my regular setup.

One thing nobody ever mentions, is that the Bridge pup, should be hotter, not to make it louder but because there is less string movement the closer you get to the bridge, thats where you ned tge extra pickup power. Now at the neck the string movement is considerably more, so a colder pup will match better. Then of course the different valu capsgives a different sound too
