i was hoping to hear more about the breakup where Eddie Van Halen REALLY wanted Patty Smyth to replace David Lee Roth. They settled on Sammy Hagar. This 'pop' band were excellent musicians that created artistically layered music

Can't imagine what she was so worried about? She sounds amazing!! Some other singers can't reach the notes or project anymore. She was awesome

I was 11 years old. I heard "The Warrior" for the first time. When I saw the video, "it" moved. It was at that moment that I realized I liked girls. Thank you Patty!

Lol if the bassline changed one note it would demonstrate how nonsensical Vinnies soloing is.

at 59 i was a hard core rocker, KISS, Maiden, Priest... but secretly i loved bands like this and 10cc Headpins and Yes a huge Night Ranger fan. it's a bit emotional watching this towards the end.

I love Martha’s voice, and I love The Motels, but I do not agree that dragging your kids into the life that you wanted is fun. When you have kids, sometimes you have to put your dreams aside and do what’s best for them. Music is an unstable life and being hungry is never “fun”. This isn’t a healthy way to grow up.

First noticed them in ‘83. Heard them and thought “Studio band thrown together by a label for the cash grab. Second album…..took my breath away…..no shit. Terri, with those soul stealing eyes, a voice that transcends existence. John a musical savant. Dave brilliant musician. Ric got the chops down. Rob steady as a rock. And Matt, talent for days. Saw them alone go up in flames when as transformer blew out at the Cotton Carnival Musicfest here in Mempho in ‘84. Thick white smoke enveloped the stage and most hicks thought it was a fog machine. Stage crew informs John he looks over his shoulder dashes to each member and one by one they vamoose the stage the whole time Terri’s out front belting out the notes finally John gets to her she immediately says “Memphis you’ve been great. Thanks!” and they were safe. Weird how some things stick in your mind……

Such a beautiful song. i always went out to clubs and bars by myself which probably isn't the best thing to do but this song was about you could have a great time doing it.

"Wow" ...Just totally "CO0L"...!!! 😎 So badass to hear Mission of Mercy again in I can't remember how long on early 80s LA ROCK RADIO and Mtv. I had a thing for "Shame" ... So mainstream casual, early 80's CHIL! !kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpjTnJmnZtmGqrs

This is such garbage. All guitar acrobatics, no feel for melody. I guess it’s cool for like 10 seconds. Then it gets old very fast.

Love this so much! Just now stumbling upon it. I was there in the early times at Madame Wongs, and if you weren't lucky enough to live in LA at that time, you missed absolute magic. Late 70s/early 80s music scene was phenomenal, and foundational, for later bands.
