I started listening to KISS when I was 8 and have been tranformed by them.I became a friend of Prince in 1983 and musically have been transformed by him. But Paul Stanley is my hero. He's just so cool and dignified and embodies the rock n roll spirit. I think he has been the most distinct and best vocalist in rock.

I love Paul. I got to the stage for one of their shows and he was nice enough to hand me one of his guitar picks after he saw my struggles to catch one that they were flicking into the audience. Gene on the other hand wouldn't dare let you touch him unless you were female, of course. Gene would get right in front of me but wouldn't stick his hand out . Slaughter was on that tour also and I got to slap hands with Mark and he threw water on my little section that was dying from the heat.

That first Australian tour was a turning point for Kiss: Ace said in the Kissology interviews that he loved doing that tour because everybody was on the same page, gone was the bullshit, Eric Carr gave the band a much needed shot in the arm and the shows were good and rocking. Paul says about Australia: "They welcomed us with open arms and legs."

Ace and Peter never had these outfits. Plus, out of 80 songs from the debut to Unmasked, Ace and Peter contributed writing credits to a grand total of 14 songs, and that's together. Alot of KISS' best material also came after the originals had split - Creatures, Monster, Revenge are good examples.

Angus Young and Ace Frehley is biggest Gibson players in 70-s. (half gibson)Van Halen is 80-, Jimmy Page(Peter Green,Paul Kossof, Marc Bolan) is fader of gibson sound but somewhere is Clapton sound groundbreaker to rock sound. Hendrix is funky and surf player with little blues influence like prince but great songwriter and producer.This is rock in pure form KISS era 73-84. Then comes Slash 86. thats it. Slash is still modern icon like satriani vai and malmseen. 80-still rules for some reason.

Most bands write their best material early on. although for me , Monster, creatures, revenge..all hang with their best material And Im not bashing Ace and Pete for their early contributions. Its later on, when they got wasted all the time, stopped showing up to record...and later, bitching about not making enough on the reunion, selling the characters and then bitching about the use of it....

I went to Kiss concerts from Cratures of the Night to Hot in the Shade. Back then I appreciated that Vinnie Vincent & Eric Carr created thier own make-up characters. It's a slap in the face to Peter & Ace to impersonate them with Eric Singer & Tommy Thayer donning the original make-up. That was in poor taste. It's a low blow.

i agree with you about the last 2 Cds BUT most of kisses stuff in the 70's & 80's was written by mainly them. some of the co written stuff on revenge wasn't great But as far as the Current line up i Like Sonic Boom alot Better there's something about Monster thats Lame including the CD Cover & the Lyrics. what other bands can say there still around for 40 Years? well ok mybe Aerosmith & the Rolling Stones.

vinnie vincent was kiss, when gene and paul almost quit when their tour bus broke down outside of detroit, vinnie vincent helped push the bus all the way to chicago...Vinnie actually formed kiss and named the band after peter was going to call it bros and hos.......VINNIE VINCENT IS KISS

I like Lick it Up also now Dynasty has its moments but it's not Rock and Roll Over I personally prefer Unmasked over Dynasty for me Unmasked is a guilty pleasure I like it more than I should The Elder I listened to once and forgot everything on it and I'm not interested in listening again. Now the solo's albums, obviously only Paul and Ace are worth mentioning Gene's was the biggest disappointment on earth and I have never in my life listened to Peter's cus everyone says don't do it
