I also saw an app for watching immersive videos, NOCNOK, which features beautiful girls. It's quite enjoyable.

Get a meta quest 3. It costs $500 and does a hell of a lot more than the apple Vision Pro. There's nothing groundbreaking here.
@KaiDLeifert6 күн бұрын
That may well be the case. I have not tested the Meta or other VR devices. In light of my own usage the Apple Vision Pro was an obvious candidate since it connects to most of my other aspects of work. And while I am impressed by the quality and the visuals it doesn't quite justify the price tag for me and my needs. What is interesting to me is that I never really considered other VR devices as the advertisement is often targeted at the games market but I am sure the applications reach far beyond that.

What would be your recommendation for building relationships if you work at a medium to large size company but at a smaller office, where the opportunities might be limited?
@KaiDLeifertАй бұрын
This is a great question ... and becomes more and more important in times of remote working as well! When I was working in an office away from the headquarters I connected with 1 or 2 individuals as "mentors" in the big offices and scheduled monthly Zoom calls. Colleagues often valued that because life in the headquarters can be lonely at times, too. Over time you talk about challenges and some of the politics going on and it keeps you connected to the circumstances outside your direct sphere of influence. Also, IF you have the chance to visit a big office, make a point of scheduling as many meetings with those who you think have valuable insight during your trip (sometimes I even requested for a holiday to extend my stay but used that to meet with some more colleagues). This way you might come across another mentor who you can then connect with online.

I relate with each and every word of you. From the last 2 years, I am trying to start with a new carrier but I am not able to overcome the challenges which are coming from inside. In past, I have failed in many situations and maybe as you said, it is what's holding me back. Randomly finding this video made me think that the universe is still trying to align me with my potential to do better. Thank you for this.
@KaiDLeifertАй бұрын
First of all - I know you CAN do this! And you are absolutely right about the universe. It goes both ways - the universe seems to give me the same lesson until I truly master it - but it also gives me the hints and motivation to do what needs to be done. Sometimes I ponder about whether I waster a few years, not moving sooner or earlier, but in the end I have to realise that big changes can take time to develop fully inside us before they manifest in our surroundings. You know what you need to do, let's keep encouraging each other to do it!

Over the past two decades, each job's environment has become increasingly toxic. I have to muster what little faith left I have in humanity when applying to each new one. The ostracism doesn't seem that social - gdamn awfully actually - 80%+ of interactions very anti-social, negative, and inhumane. I clearly have some kind of autism where most of the dance and chemistry of interaction is not happening. I wish there was a society worth fighting for - something that meant something with honor and family values. My prospect is a complete blur for the future, just doing the motions.
@KaiDLeifertАй бұрын
Thank you for sharing your truth-it’s clear you value connection, honor, and purpose in a world that often feels disconnected. While the future feels blurry now, try starting small: seek out or create a community aligned with your values, even if it’s just one genuine connection at a time. Focus on actions that bring meaning, like volunteering, mentoring, or sharing your story to inspire others. Your voice matters, and the world needs people like you to lead the way. Don’t give up-you have the strength to shape something better.

Thanks for the insightful video Kai. I left my 8-5 in 2014 but I'm still adjusting to the change. A lot has happened since then including a severe stroke that my dad suffered in 2018 that forced me back from Eastern Europe to California. If anything I've come to appreciate the value of family since then and as time goes on I want to keep supporting my family while starting my own. I lived the freelance, bachelor, 'Euro jaunt' lifestyle for half a decade, but I reached its limits. Now its time to pass on the lessons I've learned to others and most of all to be the best man I can be for my own small little constellation of family members, girlfriend and friends.

Thanks for sharing your story. It sounds like you’ve been on a profound journey, and it’s powerful how your focus has shifted from the freelance, ‘Euro jaunt’ lifestyle to deeper connections with family and loved ones. Life’s challenges, like your dad’s stroke, often bring clarity to what really matters. I’d love to hear more about how you’re navigating this change. What’s been the toughest part of the adjustment for you? And what lessons are you finding most valuable as you redefine success for yourself and those close to you? Appreciate your insights-thanks for being part of this community.

Hear it from the guy thats been with VR since it was invented. There is no headset you can wear for longer than 1hr. You just cant. Your eyes are not build for it. Productivity is out the window for that reason. Its a novelty item at best for people that purchasse one. The tactical units, racers, pilots, any type of operators training, VR is a great tool and only tool to actualy make sense.

🤣 at "electrocuted". Our desire to take the path of least resistance is quite normal but once we embrace living life, there is little that can stop us!
@DriftWorn2 ай бұрын
I could not justify the full cost at launch or now, however enough people are parting with them that I could justify it at 50%. For me, the productivity, the focus, needed psychological relaxation utilizing different environments all tick self desired boxes. I am able to continue earning even in a public setting where as before that was not an option. All of that being what it is, putting on the headset is not always desirable either, so I have allowed myself a secondary option of XReal glasses which are much better for on the move. If I were into gaming I would go for the Quest or another similar system. The same goes if movies and/or other entertainment were a factor.
@KaiDLeifert2 ай бұрын
I agree with you in that there are better options for specific use cases and the price remains a big obstacle. What I do admit is that the quality and technology exceeds those other options and I am excited to see how that translates into a good, and mostl likely more affordable, next version.

I like this video. My question is: What if it brings up a lot of pain ask who do I serve? What if I myself feel let down by others?
@KaiDLeifert2 ай бұрын
I am glad you found the video helpful and appreciate you sharing this! Asking ‘who do I serve?’ can definitely bring up tough emotions, especially if you've felt let down in the past. It can help to shift your focus beyond the immediate people around you to the bigger impact-whether that's an end client, a broader community, or even your own growth. And if that pain feels like it’s keeping you stuck, consider whether your skills and energy might be better used in a different space. Serving others should bring fulfilment, not hold you back. Sometimes, the most powerful change comes from finding where you’re truly valued.

Great vid! The AVP isn't currently in my price range but I do own a quest 3 and use it for similar productivity reasons along with entertainment. The entertainment value is far worth it for me with immersive 180 vids, 3d movies, social environments and solid immersive and social games. You make a great point that we already have sufficient tech for work purposes so how does VR level up our work? Maybe w what it does best with immersion and bringing remote workers together from any distance?? Lots to explore and I'm definitely convinced it is the future of how we will work.
@KaiDLeifert4 ай бұрын
Thanks, Christian! 😊 It’s awesome that you’re using the Quest 3 for both work and play. I agree-immersive experiences are where VR really shines, especially for connecting with others remotely. I have to say, I was absolutely blown away by watching movies and videos on the Apple Vision Pro. It's not the most productive use, of course, but it’s such a fun and immersive experience. It really adds a whole new dimension to entertainment! Looking ahead, I’m convinced as you are that this is the future of work. Once we overcome some of the current friction-like carrying another device and the price-we're on the brink of a new era of collaboration and productivity that I’m really excited about. What’s been your favourite use case so far? I’d love to hear more about how it’s fitting into your routine!

if you can find a "career" that aligns with your life, you're life is bullshit. real humanity has nothing common with the artifice of Bullshit World. Stop trying to fit into the non-existant hyperreality of modernity and start living in the real world where there aren't any false constructions between you and the universe. Stop taking advice from dead idols that simulate real people. Stop letting photonic paintings of stars stand between you and the real night sky. fuck your job, go live your live life
