Brilliant video Kai, exactly how I feel. I left corporate life to be self employed due to a really bad manager, before this manager I had a fantastic manager who was very supportive of my dyslexia and the skillset I brought to the team. But self employed has not been great for me and now I feel ready to go back to corporate finance life again. But having eight years self employed on my CV, a lot of companies don’t like. Don’t get me wrong, the skills I have learned will help in me returning to my profession but it’s taken longer to get recognised. Thank you for sharing 👍👍

Thank you so much for sharing! 👏🏼 I can also relate to the point of our manager being a key aspects on what path we choose. As for explaining your time away from the corporate world: I wouldn’t worry too much. You own your choice and you can explain what you learned. In many organisations that’ll be a big asset as corporations seek entrepreneurial minds too! And for the ones who don’t: they may now not be the right fit, and that’s ok! You now have a skill set that differentiates you from the rest, so use that for sure 👌🏼
