Nice video! What glider is it and how old is the sail? I noticed some trailing-edge flutter when you flew a bit faster.
@skylinecityhiacesurf18 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment. As you pointed out, it is an old glider, about 7 years old. It is a Wills Wing Sport 2C glider. I put speed battens on the trailing edge of the sail to prevent flapping. www.opa.co.jp/hangglider/wills-wing-speed-battens/ (Japanese version) I am flying at a speed of about 60km and planning the landing course. The sail is stretching, but the parts without the speed battens are flapping. I would like to replace the sail or install speed battens in all parts.

Is that Vanuatu's Tanna? (that beeping would drive me up the wall.. spoils the tranquility)
@skylinecityhiacesurfАй бұрын
The Tanna Area is the area around the Tanna Basin in Kannami Town, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The sounds heard during flight are those generated by the variometer. A variometer is an instrument that detects ascending winds. The pilot circles within the area where this sound is heard to increase altitude. This is an essential instrument for hang gliders.

Awesome shots! Nice flying. You could get on the uprights sooner, and maintain speed earlier on landing, that way you're not trying to adjust your hands when you should be trying to time the flare correctly.
@skylinecityhiacesurf7 ай бұрын
Thank you very much for your wonderful comments and advice. When landing, I changed my grip to the upright position, and then changed my grip to the upper position several times. This is done to create a flare effect. This behavior has become a habit. Next time, I'll switch to the upright position a little earlier so I can flare smoothly.
@WahrheitMachtFrei.7 ай бұрын
@@skylinecityhiacesurf You're a super-competent flyer and you obviously have no worries about your landings, but that extra ten seconds with an upright body, hands high on the uprights, maintaining good speed, will iron out any instability that COULD arise. Thanks for the upload again!

The 360 degree camera is a good idea in principle but in practice it's just annoying. There's nothing better than a decent camera angle from the rear, looking forward.
@skylinecityhiacesurf7 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. When 360 degree cameras weren't on the market yet, I used a regular camera. The photo was taken from an angle from behind. For example, the video below. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnaufqNrhbx9is0 Editing 360-degree images is difficult, but I find it useful because I can select the angle when editing. I can edit the angles from the front, or focusing on other gliders' take-offs and landings. The disadvantage is that the surrounding image is distorted. People who don't know about it may think it's a small, curved glider. I'm currently attaching a GoPro Session to the right wing end and taking preliminary images. For example, the video below shows the takeoff and landing scene. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5CVeHaBpLWfqpo Next time, I'll try shooting from the rear angle using Session for the first time in a while.
