So, all four of the wires that go into the hinge on mine broke. I know 3 of them go over to the sub assembly and I can jump them all just like you did the pink wire. But the blue wire coming out of the harness. I'm not sure where it goes. It looks like a different shade of blue than the one that connects back to the sub assembly. What do you think?

I had Samsung cover my repair under warranty(same problem for the third time) in June of 2024, they replaced all of this and yet here I am in December of 2024 with the exact same issues again. There is no permanent fix for this issue and Samsung knows it. Now they are telling me that they will no longer cover it under warranty but offered me a $200 digital coupon for another refrigerator. Right, like that makes up for spending $3500 on this one back in March of 2020. And like I will ever buy another Samsung appliance again... what a joke. Yet I have a low end basic model White Westinghouse top freezer fridge that I bought in 2005 for $400 brand new from Conns and that bad boy still kicks out ice like there is no tomorrow. See this is one of those instances where I wanted to buy a cheap stainless fridge but my wife wanted the cool French 4 door unit. And we see how that has been a big mistake.

Thank you so much for this video. Had the exact same thing happen this week to our 7-year old 4-door LG fridge. This video saved us $600 for a new door. I hope LG corrects this design flaw in future models. We purchased an LG oven & dishwasher at the same time as the fridge 7 years ago and have had nothing but problems. We finally replaced the oven this year after spending about $1200 on repairs. And the dishwasher trays all started rusting a year into owning it. LG replaced them once when the unit was still under warranty but now they’re rusting badly again and no longer under warranty. I’ve never had the dishwasher drawers/trays rust! Appliances just aren’t made like they used to be.

Sad. Considering that the linear compressor has been out since at least 1983. The firsts(Toshiba) had zero issues so these cheap shits should definitely be good. LG is SHIT. The sad demise of a budget company (gold star) that used to make decent stuff going too high on thier horses.

Yea, but ....like, what if the spring broke... or somethin'. Like.. I don't know. Whatever. Maybe we should ask the door what its motivation was for opening quickly. The tension was probably just too much for it.

Every Samsung fridge eveantually has this issue and repairs don't fix it long term. It's just a bad design. You are better off getting a fridge that has the ice maker in the freezer compartment.

Nice video...what might be the issue if my fan in the back of the unit at the bottom isnt turning on when its plugged? Everytime i turn on the unit it trips the outlet after 30+ minutes and shuts off 😢😢

Hi, thank you for informative video, your fridge looks the same as ours, we got a 2018 LG LMXS30796D. The issue is it will dispense water like a glass or 1/4 of the pitcher then will stop completely while pressing the switch or flapper, then need to wait for an hour or more for water to dispense again, then it will stop and need to wait again, like a cycle. I already replaced the water inlet valve but the issue remains the same. The fridge is still making ice properly and the water pressure is good, it’s the water dispenser not functioning properly, I can still hear a click and hum whenever I press the flapper but no water for a while then will come again after few hours. Spent almost a day troubleshooting with LG customer service but didn’t fix the problem and other company advised to change water inlet valve but the problem still the same. Do you think it’s the wiring the issue, the one you posted? Please advise, your response would be highly appreciated.

Do you have the reference of the fridge from the video by any chance? I have a whirlpool fridge but someone took the label off and I need it to find the correct manual. I think my Ice Maker isn't working because of some electrical connections that were made wrong.

Mine has the exact same issue. Thank you! I originally thought the water was hitting the wall from the nozzles at the end of the spray arm. After watching your video, I realized the leak was actually coming from the center of the arm. I used some super glue and tightened the arm with a new screw to close the gap, as I didn’t want to replace the entire unit for an older dishwasher. So far, no more leaks. Honestly, the lower spray arm should have been recalled. I'm glad I didn’t toss it out last winter.

This is exactly what happened to my LG refrigerator. Thank you for taking the time to share your repair…it helped me diagnose and fix my fridge without spending $550 on a new door just because of one broken 14 gauge wire.
