Nuno's team pushed this one close, but for me this was the best Wolves team of my lifetime. I wasn't there, but remember the euphoria on the Saturday evening and Sunday morning. United had been flying high.

Great to see the King out in the rain, shaking the hands of all the players. What a great country England was. So sad what it has become.

I completely forgot that the great Denis Law was at City in 1974. He went to the World Cup in Germany too later that year. No doubt City had a decent side in 74 with Summerbee, Bell, Marsh and Booth. But Wolves won and they too had some good players: Richards, Dougan, Sunderland and a rookie goalkeeper called Gary Pierce who had a blinder.

Back in the 60’s the Owls had a decent team, but my team Everton seemed to be a bit of a bogey side to them...We beat them in the ‘66 cup final 3-2 after being 2 nil down with half an hour to go!...and always seemed to beat them after that until they were relegated...in ‘69...1970 Everton went on to be Champions.....good times.... I’ve always liked Sheffield Wednesday...💙

I was a regular at the Wolves in those days, Waggy was my favourite player, he should have played for England many times, this was in the days when football was played by men, not the namby pamby roll over merchants we see today.
