It has always been a dream of mine to visit New York. Never had the money and it remains a dream.
@vaccavo3 күн бұрын
Went there in 1995 and 1997, when Brazil's 1 real was 1 dollar. Impossible dream, these days.

It's the early eighties I'm talking of and I had played this on a jukebox in a bar near the beach. For us all it was a pub crawl that we were on. We'd were just heading off to the next port of call and the song came on the speakers. I said hang on a minute. Let's just say nobody seemed to mind. There is something very special about this beautiful recording...

Bought this album after his debut, and this song just floored me. Beautiful song, unequelled singing. Must be the hundredth time I've sung along to this.

A city is such a huge agglomeration of people. But they need not be a faceless and anonymous entity but living breathing, individuals, with feelings and emotions as much as any small town. This is perhaps what Art means when he says the city has a heart! Actually many hearts!

The Democrats put a stake into the heart of NYC. Manhattan was great in 1988..even better in 1990. Now the Big Apple is full of junkies and migrants.

Interesting. I bought Scissor's Cut when it first came out in 1981. Listened to this on cassette. Never knew there was a video to go with it.

Makes me melancholic about NYC, and I've never been there. Still it feels as if I wandered through the city in the 70's and I'm so familiar with the music from that place in the 70's. Very strange!

Wow! This is atmospheric! I feel as though I'm on a plane descending into New York... and I've never been there. (Do I hear echoes of Simon and Garfunkel's "America" in those descending chords at the end?)

Will people throw rocks at me if I say that Garfunkel is truly my favorite over Simon? This man's voice is beyond angelic, it really puts you in a place of comfort, tenderness and understanding!
