@andrewssoundsofthepast110 enjoyed your video, I farm with a 6620, so I can relate with you. I was hoping to see the John Deere 45 combine do a little bit in the video, but that's okay that you didn't either. I wonder if a X9 would be as big a step up from a 6620, as the old John Deere 45 was to the 6620?

I worked for a Deere dealer for 34 years, and my blood runs pretty damn green, but the Case AF11 will outdo and out class the X9 in all categories. That thing is an absolute beast.

Some really nice older John Deere equipment in your building. Would really be fun to run that old 45 with the two row head. 66, 77, and 8820's were good combines.

Thanks for the great explanation of the 540/1000 gear interaction. I've always heard they were finicky and was always curious of what was happening mechanically. i did the something about 2 months ago on a customer 4010 gas and he said his son was mowing when his broke, he said he heard a loud bang and then the pto stop. I split it and i found the one pin broken. I just split be hide the clutch and put new pins in, after i found the one was broken, new gasket's, replace the o-ring at the back where the long pto rod goes though up to the front pto and he wanted the new pto brake replace so sense i was there and i replace it.

Good hear from you. I remember having trouble with one of the 4010s on a small dairy I worked on after high-school. Must be that was the issue. We never ran the 1000 rpm shaft. They both spent a lot of time mowing and baling hay, picking corn, and running the green chopper which was probably the hardest on them.
@TheJohndeere4663 ай бұрын
On my sons 3010 it broke that pin a couple times. He finally just took the 1000 rpm gear out and put a spacer in there to always hold it in 540. We never need the 1000 especially on a 3010.

In corn we run the top open to the size of the butt kernels. Bottom wide open. Big tires on the rear to make the corn walk uphill on the shoe. Slow the fan down because the top is closed up...we took the chopper off because we run a small head. Found the extra corn fan screens at a wrecker and never have corn leaves in the fan anymore.
