Advise against eating it, as all varieties contain potentially toxic alkaloids and some are known to contain hepatotoxic alkaloids (cause liver damage). There are also other members of the same family, looking very similar, which are carcinogenic. It's not deadly poisonous, so one could eat a little occasionally and experience no ill effect. The same might be said for smoking cigarettes. Since there are tastier things to eat for any gardener or forager, which aren't toxic, why take the risk?

Do NOT under any circumstances lay it in any potato trench or allow any green plant into contact with your soil. It must be thoroughly dried first. It’s vigor is unsurpassed and even a small piece of green leaf or stem will root easily and once rooted it is impossible to get rid of.

Great for sunburn. It contains alentoins which are necessary for cell repair. Don't eat too much. It can put pressure on kidneys.

Sometimes i get a bit confused when i'm shown recent videos with very few view, but yummy wild edibles, now this is right up my alley :^) Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I don't kow how easy these would be to find in the french Alps where i live, but regardless it's awesome to know ! Plants are facinating, i've been getting really into them lately as i'm setting up a bioactive enclosure for my pet snake. I think a lot of what people consider weeds make gardens gorgeous and alive, native "weeds" promote a healthier soil, providing shade for less sun-loving plants, and shelter for critters.
