I'm looking at the vid at 4:29 thinking "what an amazing shot but that's unrunnable. Clearly, that's a portage". 12 seconds later, there's Dane clapping his hands and now I'm thinking "Ohhh...shit....he's gonna run it".....Then he does it!!! Absolutely INSANE!!

To the video producers: do you think when a paddler disappears into a hole, that we viewers would like to see if he comes out or not, BEFORE you cut to another shot? Just, maybe!?
@RegalRubi5 ай бұрын
In the course of a river this is called the upper or mountain course. Here vertical corrasion is predominant. That is why very deep v- shaped valleys are formed. If the rocks are very resistant then gorges are formed.

I remember driving along that river thinking that it would be impossible to survive running it. I am astounded to see that you boys did it!

What great guy, kayaker and videographer. HEartfelt sorry for his friends and family. Adrien, Dane and Ben were quite the crew. Those two must be among those hurting.

Only person to influence me that I didn’t know personally. Thanks for shining your light, grateful for how you spent your time here ❤. Your videos got me sobered up, got my certs, and got my first job safety kayaking and teaching and saw the impact i can have on people using kayaking. After starting that journey two years ago I am moving into my car tomorrow full time to kayak and film videos that can hopefully help people., crazy finding this out the day before. He helped spark my path and influenced my decisions from the other side of the world. I might not be his friend, but he was my friend. thanks Bren, seriously dude.

Six years on, and who knows how many face plants, he still looks pretty. Or should we say "handsome?" Plus he's still one of the top kayakers in the world. Way to send it Bren. You are essentially sending life.

For those of you who are scared to try kayaking because of this video, let me calm your fears by telling you that, even though the river looks pretty scary, it's actually not too dangerous with a little practice. The real danger is the estimated 12,000 crocodiles that live in the Zambezi Valley. Happy paddling!☺

Landed kinda flat at 2:56. I wonder how many inches he lost off of his height with that? Just so cool how the music fades when he goes into the tunnel, then starts up again as he exits.

Ok, I know this comment is 3 years too late, but important things must be said! Let's talk about the mystery move, from 5:08 until 5:21. First, I love that we've brought back the classic river runner boat with the low volume stern, (not sure how much that thing costs, but it sure looks like a Dagger RPM to me). Second, the stern squirt-to-mystery-move; he went to a dark place and I wasn't sure if he was coming back, while Dane must surely have been laughing his a** off. best 15 seconds of kayak video I've seen in quite a while...
