Although returning numerous times, in the past the boys had little luck when it came to heavy rains on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Big Island is home to what seems like an endless abundance of waterfalls, many of which appear possible to run, as long as the rains could deliver. Though after the first few weeks it seemed as though it would be another year without hard enough rains, they had no idea what was in store for them. The 2020 trip went from another sunny SEND vacation, to experiencing historic rainfalls, bringing in new waterfalls, and new sections. When the rains deliver, there is truly no other place to be than Hilo, Hawaii.

Thanks for sharing your video, I grew up in Hilo and went to Hilo High and as a kid we use to ride some of the storm waters on the river but we never had the safety gear that you guys have now, helmets, safety team etc. We rode on inner tubes and it was sometimes scary and mostly kick ass fun. The one place to be safe is at boiling pots since one of my friend died in one of those pots being held down by the water from a big stormy weather day. Most of the rivers you showed was scary to us kids growing up on the Big Island esp during stormy weather. Be safe out there and thanks for sharing your video. I was one of the original surfers at Honolii back in the 60’s-70’s time frame and my high school buddy Charles still surf’s point at Honolii and my other friend Lester who helped design the trail and walk way for the people to get down to Honolii beach. The old days we use to slide down the side of the hill or cut trails on the side of the hill to get to the surf. Be safe and Much Aloha.

wow great video..almost like watching a Nat Geo equivalent quality content! Good narration. Hope you can show more of the hiking part as well in the future. Interesting to see how difficult it is to hike in and out of the river and what challenges you have to deal with throughout the whole journey. Maybe next time u can create the 'Making of these Videos' and show us how these contents are made as well : )

Great video, stout runs, and thanks for the upload! When your dad was winning world championships and I was young, we had to order these types of videos on VHS. Does Nick run this stuff too? He always seems to be there, but I never see him run the falls. Sweet edit, great lines, and tons of effort. It looked amazing!

That was actually Kaelin Freidenson, a younger shredder. Nick doesn't run the tall stouts as much as he used to but still gets after it. He unfortunately hasn't been with us on the last few hawaii trips.

can someone pls at somepoint untangle the mess of "Send It", "SEND." and "Senders"? and maybe create a uniform coherent branding? or at least explain the different sections and why they have to be sperate and why they are all so close namewise?
@smuir6104

I know they are all on team SEND, and good friends, from what I can tell, Dane's version is "Send it", Bren's is "Send.", Adrian's is "Senders", I think EJ's should be "SENT it"! It just gives them all a platform from which to post content, but still keep it related. I think, ha ha...
@danejacksonkayak
@danejacksonkayak 4 жыл бұрын
So SEND is our brand that we have apparel, run events, and put our main edits behind like this one. The KZbin is “Send It” due to the fact I believe SEND was taken when Bren switched this KZbin to be the main channel, which is the same reason why our insta is “wearesend”. SENDERS is the Vlog channel for Bren and Adrian, where they post their V-Log style videos from trips and fun days on the water.

@@danejacksonkayak maybe you could profit from converging all your content on the senders platform. Then SEND is the brand while the people who are part of the brand are the Senders. just as it is now, but without confusion. . overall i think that would probably also make sense for youtube discoverability, since it allows you to post more regularly. also senders has more than double the subscribers, so that seems to make a lot more sense in terms of content reach as well. . also i do understand that for you its also important to keep "Dane Jackson" as a seperate strong brand, so i think your own channel should continue just the way you do it right now.

SENDERS *** A few years ago in November I visited The Queen's Bath which is a boiling pot on the north shore of Kauai. I really wished I had my boat and a few paddling buds. I'd love to see you guys set up some throw lines and screw around in there. 🙂

We need to get you guys in some surf kayaks! With your paddle skills you will be shredding it up in no time! With your fame and content output I am sure we could hook you up with a top boat. As an added bonus next year both the Freestyle and Surf Kayak world championships are going to be held in the UK so you could hit them both up :D Ping me if you are interested.

Cool edit! But the audio needs some work.. Super low volume commentary / gopro commentary and then really really loud music? I would think this is very noticeable when editing, especially with headphones on. Maybe spend an hour or two on the audio before publishing? This would make the end result way better in my opinion. Otherwise very impressive kayaking as always
