So, with all this money in Chicago, why is the mayor and governor charging regular people so much in taxes and everything else?

Chicago is a lot cheaper, but has much colder winter weather. I lived in NYC for 24 years. It's amazing. There are nice neighborhoods in the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn, that are more affordable than Manhattan. We retired to Florida. I really miss the city. Within a two block radius, we had nine different cuisines to choose from. In Florida, we have to drive to everything, and you can forget about getting good pizza down here, unless you want to drive for a half hour.

In the 1980s, the first show on Fox was filmed at Glenbard West High School. It was called "Yearbook." A commuter train wreck in the 1980s almost destroyed downtown.

Been to both cities and no city in the world compares to NYC. Chicago is just the biggest Midwest town in the US and is not really known for doing anything great in the world class stage. There’s just something you feel in New York that you don’t get in any other city in the world.

I was raised in Elmhurst..graduated from York in 1967. I have not been back in close to 20 years. It was a great place to grow up. Still looks like a nice place to live but wow have things changed since I was there last.

Chicagoan here, lived in LA for 15 years, only visited NYC. NYC is big, even for a Chicagoan I must admit it's noticeably bigger to me, though certainly not overwhelmingly so. LA sucks, but the weather is great. Surprised how damn dirty NYC was, garbage right out on the sidewalks. NO ALLEYS!?! Chicago women are best in the world. Chicago gives all the culture and relevancy of a NYC with 1/3 the cost of living.

Great job! Thanks. I was born there and haven't been back in a lifetime or two. This was like -- you know -- a really nice visit. I love the place but I could not have covered it as well as you just did. This production had to be a Lot of hours of planning and execution. Again, great job.

The weather in the Chicago area is more stable ( though a person has to deal with snow and cold temps) than in the Sunbelt and West coast. We don’t have to deal with hurricanes, extreme heat, forest fires, etc though we are subject to a tornado on occasion and in the winter snowstorms come unfortunately ( but the latter is of little concern )

You also have nearby New Jersey if people in NYC want to live in the area, New Jersey is relaxed just like Chicago especially in Hoboken and Bergen County
